Watching Impact, LOL @ Hogan booking a 4-way where the winner will fight Roode for the title later that night.

Why give Roode that advantage? Why not book the 4-way as the main event THIS week after the qualifiers?

Why is Malenko so high

I think he and Rey should swap spots. Both were VERY important but Rey was MORE important.

I didn't watch a lot of WCW but I feel like Raven is way too high.

Nah Raven's about right. The Flock is one of the Top Five stables in WCW history, which is astounding considering their membership. That's a big credit to Raven for making them relevant.

Poor Juvie and Jarrett, get ranked behind a guy who can't wrestle and no-showed appearances.

I can KIND of understand Rodman if you want to throw a "controversial" pick in there, because he did bring WCW a lot of cultural relevance, which is one of the criteria.

I still think his spot would be better served to be given to Billy Kidman, IMO the biggest snub (which is surprising considering he WORKS FOR WWE).

WWE.com is back at it with their lists, this time the Top 50 WCW Superstars in history!

WCW is the greatest rival WWE has ever faced. The Monday Night Wars are one of the most pivotal battles in the history of sports-entertainment. WCW’s success rested on the shoulders of experienced competitors and high-flying young ring warriors. More than a decade since the demise of the Atlanta-based organization, WWE Classics lists the Top 50 WCW Superstars of all-time.

But before you cover the WWE Classics' Facebook wall with missives like "What about Tully Blanchard???," take a moment to read the guidelines the WWE Classics team followed when compiling this list.

1. Eligibility begins with Ted Turner’s purchase of WCW in 1988. Anything from Jim Crockett Promotions and NWA predating this is ineligible. We think Magnum T.A. is a boss, but he was never part of WCW from 1988-2001.

2. Competitors were rated only on their accomplishments while in WCW, so the achievements of Bret “Hit Man” Hart in WWE, for example, had no bearing on his placement.

3. Rankings were based on everything from longevity to cultural impact. Personal biases may have also crept in, as witnessed by a heated discussion over the significance of Glacier.

Okay, now that that's out of the way, here are the 50 greatest Superstars in WCW history as decided by a team of editors, a WWE Hall of Famer and the simple, and the widely-known fact that Sid is the ruler of the world.

- Stephanie McMahon recently spoke to IGN.com about Raw going to three hours, her possible return to TV and more, here are the highlight…

On The Challenges Of Producing An Extra Hour Of TV Every Week: "It's going to be the first-ever regularly scheduled three-hour program on television and I think we've got a pretty good handle on it thus far! You know, we do a three hour show called a Pay-Per-View almost every month and Monday Night RAW, we've done three hours before, so we feel great about it."

I know they like to bury WCW but this is ridiculous.

I started thinking about who could possibly give Orton a run for his money there, and I started counting back Rock's PPV appearances from WM 17 backwards (since he left to film The Scorpion King right after and missed 4 PPVs).

FORTY-ONE in a row going back to IYH: Badd Blood in October 1997. The last one he missed was IYH: Ground Zero the month before that.

So close!

Orton had a ridiculous streak. I think it was over forty.

Yeah, after the Royal Rumble this year it hit 43. Then he got briefly injured (ANOTHER BIG SHOW CASUALTY) and missed Elimination Chamber before starting his new streak at WM.

I never actually went back and researched but I would be SHOCKED if anyone else had more in a row than that.

Fun Fact stat I mentioned in the chat:

Tonight, Christian shattered the record for longest stretch of time between two Intercontinental Title reigns. It has been over 8 1/2 years since his last reign ended in late 2003.

The old record was held by Jeff Hardy, with an over 5-year gap between his fluke first reign in 2001 and his second, more legitimate reign in 2006.

OK I think I found the ultimate stretch of futility for World Title matches on consecutive PPVs.

Wrestlemania 23: Batista loses WHC to Undertaker
Backlash: Batista and Undertaker fight to LMS draw
Judgment Day: Batista loses to Edge
One Night Stand: Batista loses to Edge
Vengeance: Batista loses to Edge
Great American Bash: Batista loses to Khali
Summerslam: Batista defeats Khali via DQ
Unforgiven: Batista FINALLY gets WHC back by beating Khali

Also, Chris Jericho just went 0-4 on 4 consecutive PPV World Title shots.

I'm trying to think back to figure out if such a thing has EVER happened, even 4 straight World Title match losses that might actually include losing the title as the first one (which Bryan could potentially accomplish next month).

It was a little funny, but not "main event of a $55 PPV" funny.

Also I am amused that Cena can survive a 20 minute legitimate Brock Lesnar beatdown and win, but one KO punch from Show and that's enough to put him out entirely.

Also I am impressed that Chrono Trigger has held 2/3 of its used value even after getting re-released on DS and ported to the Virtual Console and PSN.

Really shows how much of this is collectability versus how much is desire to legally play.

I still feel like it's more likely to happen down the road, or I guess maybe as the series dies maybe no one new will care?

I don't think I will ever sell Earthbound for at least a few decades since the music licensing issues make it so it'll probably never see a US re-release.

I do sometimes want to sell Suikoden II though. I would really miss it, but you HAVE to think that it's gonna hit PSN at some point for $6 and cut the used price in half like what happened to Suikoden 1...right?

Jeez, didn't know this was even rare. Guess that makes my list over Tactics Ogre.

And Earthbound over Guardian Heroes, although I'd assume my strategy guide missing half its pages would drive the value down, there.

The prices I listed for SNES games are just average prices for used carts in good condition.

The more Earthbound stuff you can piece together from the original box, the more your potential for profit skyrockets.

Also I forgot one because I didn't think to check for newer systems, but I also have Metroid Prime Trilogy which currently sells used for $80.86 on average.

Suikoden 2 is easily the actual rarest, but for the ones that sell for the highest prices it's currently:

Earthbound - $148.13
Suikoden II - $106.25
Mega Man 7 - $75.11
Chrono Trigger - $56.95
Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete - $48.38

Take this for what you will, but in Bill Simmons's book, he ranks the best 96 players in history, and he has Elgin Baylor at #14 as the best of all-time with no ring.

Then Malone (#18), Barkley (#19), LeBron (#20), and Stockton (#24) to round out that top 5.

Who is the greatest basketball player ever without a ring (besides LBJ)?

Barkley?

Oh god, Big Show is about to be Ace's flunkie too.

Punk vs. Ace in the cage, Big Show comes up through the ring, lawn darts Punk at the cage wall breaking it open sending Punk to the floor as the winner.

They really CAN do the full on tribute match.

I'm not sure that putting them in a cage really maximizes their effectiveness as a matchup.

It does get me thinking though...what in the world is next for Punk after Bryan?

The next PPV is Lockd--err...No Way Out, where the main matches will be in steel cages. What potential Punk feud warrants that?

My only guess is that after Ace beats Cena tonight, he gets it in his head that he's mega-awesome and challenges Punk for the title. Punk vs. Ace in the cage to complete the Austin/McMahon tribute feud.

He also has this goofy idea about Punk turning heel helping Ace beat Cena and joining Heyman/Lesnar and not being able to be fired due to the fine print of his new contract last summer, but I really don't get what that accomplishes (except maybe building to another humongous Punk/Cena match).

Kinda amusing idea from ex-writer Seth Mates on Twitter

Amidst all these rumors of Jericho leaving soon, imagine he wins the World Heavyweight Championship tonight...and then leaves.

Not only would he then ironically be ripping off Punk, but it would be the end of the World.

I was listening to Jonathan Coachman's ESPN radio show this morning, and they were doing a Babyface of the Week and Heel of the Week in sports, and the babyface declarations were accompanied by a Ric Flair WOOOOO clip, and the heel declarations were accompanied by a clip of a Rock catchphrase.

Isn't that entirely backwards?

The best Masked Man article yet, IMO. I would love to see some of these documentaries. La Lutte sounds absolutely brilliant.

Has anyone here seen Fake It So Real?
