our old manager was a really nice guy who loved the store, he was just too passive to confront the owners and make changes

the only one who could manage the store that has worked there for long enough doesn't want to do anything with it unless he owns it, and he doesn't have enough money to buy the owners out.

and I certainly can't own a comic shop (if I did I'd change the name to Zen's Corner or something dumb like that) but I would TOTALLY DO IT OH MY GOD IT WOULD BURN DOWN IN THREE WEEKS

so I guess we pray that we find some genius who is willing to manage the place and turn it around and stand up to the cheap ass owners

we used to be located in the freehold raceway mall, which is one of the bigger malls on the upper east coast, and we made so much money. WE used to be the main store

but then we got kicked out because the mall came under new (female) management that wanted everything to be a teen clothing store

they also shut down the movie stores and the music store and that mall sucks now

so we opened up somewhere else but nobody knew so some people still show up now 3 years later and are like HEY WEREN'T YOU GUYS IN THE MALL WHEN DID YOU MOVE

so this guy comes in at work today, and we know him as the "movie guy," and he comes in with the goddam schematics for the Quinjet. Turns out he's been down in Albuquerque shooting the Avengers for the past two months. Holy f***ing s*** oh my god

he came with a crapton of pictures, most were just of explosions, but there were a few of set pieces. He had a picture of him with a giant green foam armless replica of the Hulk that the characters "act against" and pictures of the fake city streets and the 16 story green screen that he helped set up

*minor avengers movie spoilers I guess, nothing big*

then he told us about the scene he helped set up. He showed us pictures of Bruce Banner's lab, and told us that Black Widow comes to recruit him, and then for some reason SHIELD attacks (he didn't know why, he thinks it might be Skrulls), and Bruce Hulks out and chases her back to the helicarrier, rips a giant tunnel through it, and comes out the other side. He showed us a picture of the giant hole that the Hulk stands at looking pout over the sky. Then Iron Man is supposed to fly around and pew pew laser him

he also told us that the stage directions and storyboards posted around ALWAYS said "aliens," not Skrulls or anything

it was so cool, I took pictures of the QuinJet Schematic (it doesn't say QuinJet, it just says QJ really big) and oh man oh man oh man so goddamn cool

I'd post the pictures but he said not to

I'm only posting this here and not the comic or movie boards cuz I don't think they'd believe me.

it's Cass's ingenuity that saves the day and foils the bad guy's plan, and Damien gives kinda a O_O look but after that he is not in the comic again AT ALL so there's no closure or proof that he's accepting

EDIT: I take that back, damien is in the comic again but only for two more panels, neither of which have to do with cass

ULTIMATE COMICS ULTIMATES #1 SPOILERS

DISCLAIMER: THIS ISN'T REALLY THAT BAD, KINDA MEDICORE THOUGH

-starts with this INCREDIBLY stupid two page spread of just the title and creative team:

-I get it. I got it when I looked at the stupid polybag and I get it from looking at the cover. what makes this so goddamn important that it gets the bag and the giant two page title card?
-opens with Nick Fury waking up, going to work and getting his coffee
-TEXT. TEXT TEXT TEXT. It looks like a Bendis book. You expect me to read all of this?
-apparently the asgardians are now living in europe (somewhere around norway and germany and the like) and are pillaging breweries and drinking merrily, which "confuses" the european nations
-the new ultimate captain britain is Jamie Braddock, and he's leading a new Excalibur
-some crap with tony stark being tony stark. he likes to drink and party! he doesn't care much about anything! did you know this about tony stark if not then here are some more examples please drill them into your head
-Excalibur is deployed to New Asgard and they literally just walk in. Thor happily hands Braddock a beer but Braddock is like LOL NO and pours it out and a huge brawl erupts.

-they stop fighting after a while (the fight is really boring, they basically just punch each other over and over) when they all see... this weird giant pimple thing:
-hawkeye calls and apparently he got somebody pregnant? nick is pretty pissed so I guess it's his ex-wife? what the hell. he gets attacked by someone off-screen while he's talking to nick
-iron man calls and apparently he found some "ghost ship" on his way to... somewhere. everyone is gone and he fines
-there is a bomb thing on the ship! it says "stark industries" on it! it explodes and iron man is found on the shore drooling
-back the giant giant pimple, some guy from excalibur touches it and it like opens up all liquid-metal-y and a hand comes out and drags him in. turns out it's ultimate reed's Future Foundation HQ!!
-Nick Fury FREAKS OUT that everything is going wrong. Isn't this how every Ultimates arc starts? Everything goes wrong?

-preview for Ultimate X-Men #1. Shows Rogue fighting Ultimate Nimrod and a bunch of texttexttext

BATMAN GATES OF GOTHAM #5 SPOILERS

ok I was reading Batman Gates of Gotham but I have NO idea what is going on. Batman is fighting some power rangers reject villain on a bridge. batman also says "well done, team!" which makes me giggle because it does feel like a cheesy power rangers fight. there are big explosions and stuff. batman says he knows who the weird steampunk guy is and goes through some history or something and then he's like NOOOOOO

also some weird sexual tension between cassandra cain and red robin. they're sitting on a bed and she's all "Raaaawr I'd like to make your robin red"

TEEN TITANS #100 SPOILERS

DISCLAIMER: THIS COMIC IS NOT BAD AT ALL SORRY IF I MAKE IT SEEM THIS WAY

-opens on a shot of the titans memorial or something. somebody steps on it.
-it was a big robot! two page spread of a robot, a bald guy, superman prime, another superman kinda guy, the ugly superboy from the 90s with the leather jacket, and a t-rex all attacking titans tower
-superboy prime is like "HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE INFERIOR" blah blah. blue beetle says "anybody know what the opposite of a defibrillator is?" and then "CLEAR" and then shocks somebody I think the big robot. I dunno. That was a weird pun thing.
-there's two pages showing different fights going on. there's a bunch of awkward "these are the names of the heroes" moments of dialogue, where they call each others' names awkwardly so the new reader knows what's going on.




-some guy who is on fire (hotspot?) grabs superboy prime and is like YOU TOOK EVERYTHING FROM MEEEEE and then superboy prime smacks him. also this gem of dialogue:
-Kid Flash is fighting some green Impulse named Inertia. They run really fast in circles and Kid Flash almost kills him, which really upsets him.
-raven fights some bald guy in the astral plane, and goes all trigon:
