This was the third in the series that I have played. I really enjoyed Sword of Mana and thought Children of Mana was decent. People said this was by far the best in the series and saying that it was a letdown would be an understatement. I think the worst thing about it was its exceptionally poor area layouts

My unwillingness to save myself got me eliminated.
Finishing in the Top 3 also gets you qualified for the final tournament/save my user contest, so you missed out on much more. I know what you mean though about not saving oneself. I never did during the "K" topic because it always feels wrong voting for myself in these kinds of things. Luckily, being a co-host helped me out in that particular case.
