smurf might not be the biggest nintendo fan, but when you're calling no more heroes "awesome", you're desperate to justify buying the console either way.

IIRC he didn't buy it and didn't even want it. The fact that he still enjoyed some games on it is actually pretty shocking.

That aside, you can't say the GR game isn't good unless you've played it. Have you? By the way you post, you make it seem like you don't own and have probably never touched a 3DS. That makes you a very bad judge of the system's quality or the quality of its library.

TopicComics Topic 12: LtM doesn't think Ryan Reynolds is a good Deadpool [punishment]
ChichiriMuyo
08/08/11 12:18:00 AM

Guys, I'm confused. What's all this talk about Ryan Reynolds having played Deadpool? I know he played a character that kinda looked like him and had the same name, but that wasn't Deadpool. We have no idea how well anyone would play Deadpool in a movie because that character has never been in one. Some cheap knock-off, sure, but not Deadpool.

Now if Deadpool were in a movie (other than an animated one), I think Reynolds could do alright. He's funny. Say anything else about him that you will, that's still true. And that's one of the most important aspects of Deadpool's character. And the guy is a fan of Deadpool, to boot. Assuming the writers weren't absolute ****, I bet he could deliver a decent Deadpool. I also have a hard time thinking of someone else that can do better that'd fit the part.

Take that article Ulti linked to. Of the comedians listed on his stars list, could even one of them make a believable Deadpool? No way in hell. Going off of memory the list has at least Sandler, Farrel, Carrel, Galafinakis, and Rudd, who are all known primarily for portraying certain types of funny guys (4 "dumb" comedians and one straight man), none of which even remotely resembles Deadpool in the least.

So maybe Ryan Reynolds might not be a "great" Deadpool if given the chance to play the character, but I can't think of any one who would. I mean, it's ****ing Deadpool. But he could be a decent one, and in terms of people with any modicum of name brand value (regardless of what a sports writer thinks a movie star is) there's not a lot of competition.

I know I'm late to the party, but I've never gotten the "it's 1/3 of a game" argument. It has as much or more content as the other Starcraft releases.

Also, the way they've handled it is nothing like Diablo 2 where they outright stated that they hadn't finished the game and the rest would be available in an expansion. Having played Diablo 2 (and LoD) more than any other game in my life, I remember just how much better the balance felt with the expansion. Going from beating Diablo to starting Nightmare the first time without the expansion was a *****. THAT was an incomplete game that sold unfinished content as an expansion.

SC2 is nothing like that. It's not like your campaign gets cut off before you beat the final boss and get your actual ending. You get a complete story, and you get a complete multiplayer experience. And for people that like the game, it's worth way more than the $60 they paid for it.

At this point I don't see Umineko losing as long as everyone plays by the rules. The people who haven't played aren't likely to because they are turned off by the general lack of gameplay, and the people who have aren't likely to vote anything else over it. Unless people start lying about playing it, it's pretty much got this contest locked up.

Wait on a video card until you actually know that you need something better. Chances are you'll be able to run just about everything you want with the card they give you, and if you can't you can always pick up a new one later when, in all likelihood, they will be cheaper.

The games I have played are both top ten for me, hell, top 3, and would certainly get my vote even if I had played the other two. I actually have to agree with the conclusion to some degree. Mega Man platformers haven't passed a million sold since MMX, and have seen steady decline over time. The spinoffs hit their stride with the BN games and have also been going down from there. There just seem to have been too many years with too many new titles, not to mention all of the re-releases.

The Star Force games started off way better than Legends did, and they dropped really fast. If they have reason to believe that the game won't have stellar sales, and they do, they probably wouldn't put the effort into making it great themselves. In fact, that's probably why they went the fan approach - free labor. They need to back off a little bit, and trying to revive a spin-off that wasn't a huge success to begin with is not necessarily in the company's best interest. At least not now.

Maybe they don't need a hiatus as long as Street Fighter took, but there's been some definite overload. With Inafune gone now, it's time for a break.

Nintendo

They get a lot of flack for the direction they've chosen, but I actually like it. Online play would be a nice option, but I never choose it even when it's given to me. Casual games last for about as long as I'm willing to play a game in general (though a few real gems can hold me longer, those have been few and far between the entire time I've been gaming). They also allow me to play with friends in person, generally. So Nice. Motion controls are also fun, so long as they work with the concept and don't get tacked on. If they do get tacked on, at least when Nintendo is involved it's pretty minor. I don't care for DLC and think it's pretty lazy to release games that aren't complete, so the lack of a hard-drive in the Wii was just fine by me. Not releasing those 3 RPGs I wouldn't have played kinda sucks, though, 'cause it'd be nice for other people to have a reason to not hate on Nintendo for a change.

Because Capcom is an outstanding company that makes great games that has come into some unfortunate bad press as of late.

In a month the internet will find a new company to flog for a while.

DLC on disc?
"Test" games on the Wii succeeding (RE4, RE:UC) with no follow up support?
Taking games in directions that abandon existing fans to try to capture audiences that never will be fans?
Releasing superior versions of games only a year after the games they completely overshadow and invalidate? At a lower cost?

Capcom has been crap for a long time now. This isn't really the result of unfortunate timing. It's a company with unfortunate business practices that has been gaining hate over a long time now. It has merely hit a fever pitch. They would not have done very well a week ago, or even a month ago. Capcom has been taking the p*** for a very, very long time now, and the only difference is that a few more people realize it now.
