or fuck just rerelease Drakengard 3 on modern platforms
If ever there was a game that desperately needed a remaster(and by that I mean they could keep the same graphics and not make it run like Crysis on your mom's 1995 Gateway PC).

I know this is very minor compared to all the other awfulness of capitalism, but how can people see things like this and still support our current system? Even going past the stupid idea of cashiers not being "real work" it's happening in so many other ways too and will continue until every job that can be outsourced will be.

Too bad both parties (yes, bOtH sIdEs! unironically) are controlled by the rich so there will never be any progress done to stop this.
Basically. As long as capitalism marches on neither side will ever really give a damn(hell, more likely they'll actually oppose) workers Rights or fair pay.

We'll definitely see this tech spread to big chains eventually but the article is talking about a local chain that has like 3 restaurants total. Its not about pleasing a board of investors its about shitty owners who cant exploit the local immigrant work force as easily anymore moving on to the next best alternative.
That's what I meant. Stuff like that spreads quick when the little guy is done taking all the hate for the initial switch. That's why so many things are done in "test markets" for big companies, all the better when someone entirely unrelated can do it for you.
A reminder that it isn't that they can't afford those wages most of the time(I'm sure some smaller companies feel some stress at least) but because you're legally obligated to do what is best for your investors, which means showing growth. That means firing all those people who get pesky, annoying things like proper living wages.

Granted even if that weren't a requirement they'd still likely be doing this to maximize profits, it's the next best thing to slave labor.
Massive nuclear breakthroughs. Everything basically running on free energy. Massive medical breakthroughs where most things could be healed with a single injection.

I mean... Society just went in a different way, really. Why advance when things are going absolutely amazing (until everything exploded.)

Thats one problem, but the bigger one is that SE only wants to make AAAA tech demos with Hollywood blockbuster budgets, then they make the shocked Pikachu face when they dont sell gangbusters like SE expects in their out of touch delusion.
I forget they've been chasing the movie style Megabucks since The Spirits Within. I think they still think they're one of the big guns in the gaming world these days, when I think sales wise they're more on par with/a little ahead of Atlus, lately.
I never understood the whiny complaints for him.

Dude was a sports prodigy in what essentially looked like a futuristic mega city, and gets dropped in to the middle of a hyper religious technological wasteland with a giant murder Whale roaming around. I'd be fucking whiny about that situation too.

I mean Final Fantasy 7 and X were well known to be system sellers. They were both in the top 5 most popular games of their eras. I don't think a lot of people bought a ps5 just for FF16. That's kinda the risk when you change the litetal face of a genre. Mario explored tons of different genres of games, but the mainline games are still platformers

There's also the fact that BG3 was very popular and Infinite wealth and persona as well.

BG3 and Infinite wealth showed you can innovate the turn based systems by adding a lot of aoe that is more complex than "one or all ennemies"(which used to be done by chrono trigger, but whatever). Mobility adds a lot depth to those games system as well. People would probably enjoy a FF that innovates on the classic formula
I think the problem is SE is stuck in the mindset that turn based is just a party lined up hitting the attack/magic/item button all day when it evolved past that a long time ago.

I actually liked FF16, think it was the first graphical performance that made me even slightly impressed with the PS5 generation and the gameplay was fun to boot(the MMO side quests I could live without though).

I refuse to do any banking on my phone.

But banks and lots of other important websites require fucking 2FA now, so having my phone stolen would still be disastrous, all in the name of "my security" *barf*

Why did tying shit to your phone become the gold standard for security? I fucking hate it.
Because phones are life. Hell our phones are probably more valuable than us as human beings in a larger scale.

That said mine is basically exclusively for that when needed. I don't fuck with apps on something so easily stolen/misplaced, especially not ones that have ridiculously important info.
Did it ever matter? It's a video game. If you're getting angry over shit happening in a video game walk away. It's entertainment. Yeah, a frustrating struggle can be fun when you finally jump over it, but if something another player is doing is pissing you off just take a break.

Never really understood getting upset about shit like that online.

It's so strange how it really feels like lately people are actively pushing HARD to make stuff worse
They are. This is an advertisement platform now, the Internet is no longer a knowledge and communication database. Advertisers stuck their grubby greasy hands in to it and ruined it a little over a decade ago now.
Their remakes/remasters of older titles were regularly performing better then expected, and large releases usually the opposite. I think any remasters are at least relatively safe, as long as they were actually in dev and not just speculation/an obscure old title.

What a completely dismissive attitude.
If it's in regards to me, I actually don't watch TV or movies much either if that helps. Or even stuff on YouTube these days, now that I think of it. That isn't to say they shouldn't take pride in what they do, but I just never saw the appeal and personally don't see the need to bother myself with the achievements of people I couldn't care less about, or why I should be in awe of them.
I'll never get it either. Especially in this age of "celebrity influencer" kinda shit. Never really thought special of anyone I've seen on TV or movies or whatever.
If I'm being honest, I really don't think any civilian rebellion would amount to anything these days. Our biggest hope would be digital rebellion to prove a point, but guns in the street style stuff would just be squashed so hard with how things are now.
Most sex scenes just look awkward and terrible to me. Dunno, never was a fan of them in huge releases. Not to say they never serve a purpose, but a lot of the time it feels like pointless filler.
Work friends aren't real friends. Online friends aren't real friends. Raises the question of who is in their books at times.
Yeah, it's basically a "that's cool, it's not for everyone" moment. Then we shit talk each other's favorite games for a sec while joking around and move on.

How it's gone for me anyway
This group(well, they're twin VTubers) got pushed to me a while ago. Been watching em for a few days, they seem pretty entertaining. https://www.youtube.com/@DuoLeveling

They stream Tavern Master for their chill/chat game on the regular, n play a pretty good variety of games too.

Everything on Amazon is an auto generated AI image of whatever you typed.

Upon purchase the closest match to it will be drop shipped from a counterfeit factor with no standards so itll be covered in things that will eventually kill you.

Cant buy anything online anymore.
Amazon had been that since well before the AI Advent. It's been horrendous since COVID though.
The man basically dosed society with a cancer, but it's sad for another human being to go out the way he did. I personally never liked him, though.

This is one of the reasons the web went to shit when sites went from being run by individuals who did it out of actual interest to companies. They added nothing but fancy graphucs and flash effects that served only to price the little guy out of the game.
Pretty much. The consolidation of the Internet has only benefitted the terminal cancer that is the advertisement industry.

Run up the costs for the little guys so hobby sites can't exist. If they do, bury them under 16 pages of awful search results and 1 page of half ass accurate ones, so people don't end up there, because that revenue increase is all that matters.
Continuity and believability. Outside of full scale war, it's hard to believe if they haven't found an answer in five or ten years that they ever will.
I don't use their wikis or anything related to them. Only reason I'm still here is because I've been here for so long, and I love discussion forums versus other social media or Reddit.

We just talk things through like "normal" people. Which isn't actually very normal.
This. Fights are technically important, but only as far as resolving issues. If you can just talk them out it's usually infinitely more productive.

They're literally putting money into guides. They definitely want them.
Wanting the user generated content does not equate to wanting the site. Payouts could be to cover them for using the guides to train AI and future proof themselves against lawsuits, for example.

Say what you want, the NPCs behaving like complete fucking weirdos was basically the only entertaining thing in my run if Starfield
People want to be hot. What their definition of that is can be different, and I think a variety in video game character appearances can't really be a bad thing.

But a lot of these designs aren't even demonstrative of the average person. I don't live in a place known for attractive people, and I can find better looking people out and about without trying than are in some games.

That said a warrior looking like a supermodel is kinda hard to believe in a game geared for realism, but in a world with magic and dragons and the like it isn't hard to Believe either.

We get it. Poor people aren't willing to better themselves honestly and are just looking for a quick fix.
It's not that, but when you're low enough and someone offers a magical cure to your problems, sometimes it's hard to see downsides that are pretty obvious in retrospect. Talking from experience.
Depends on the job. Law enforcement it could be a potential red flag for example.
Fuckin crazy. Having gone from homeless to home owner, if I found someone else just living in my house, I would be absolutely fucking livid. Dunno how I would react. Really messed up that last is(was?) structured that way.

They should have made Nioh 3 instead
This. They made Nioh, hit a solid fan base, made Wo Long and alienated them with that game full of weird design choices, the Rise of the Ronin after to attempt a course correct only to miss the mark.

Not sure what they're up to, but I personally would certainly just like a new Nioh
Always wondered about the squatter problem, assumed it was just renting issues, but laws actually protected people who, without permission, just took up shop in someone's property? That's kinda nuts.

As someone who was homeless, I can understand desperately wanting a place to stay.. but that sure as hell isn't the way to go about it. Damn.
It doesn't seem to be asleep at the moment so I would assume so.

No. Those lines were changed largely because of the game aiming for E10 rating in NA. Francesca regularly drops F bombs in Japanese, essentially. That would immediately make it miss the ratings target. They do keep the same spirit though, if a bit awkward.

More accurately, banter was changed to fit that fact but the story essential dialogue is largely on the nose from what I can tell.
Breath of Fire 3. I played and liked RPGs before that, but that was the one that made me go "these are my games. I love this kind of game."
It can help even your mood for some, so it's useful in that regard.

Everyone is trying to make the best out of their life. I'm glad you found something that seems to help you on that path. I would recommend getting a more professional help though(and who knows, said professional help may recommend what you're doing).

Actually metal is a good example of gate keeping. It used to have a Nazi problem and then people started gate keeping them out of the community and that was a good thing.
To be fair here, gatekeeping Nazis out of your hobby/job/anything is something I think most people can universally agree on as a good thing.

Gatekeeping random Joe's out of a video game series doesn't accomplish much though, as more money going on to a game series usually just means getting more of those games.
I didn't think it'd be too bad but I just got pushed one (probably due to it being shopping related and me looking at PC part hauls out of boredom) and its thumbnail was full of the usual clickbait shit that gets kids attention.

Normally I don't give a shit about stuff like this and usually put the onus on the parents, but man, outside of slapping cartoons on the thumbnail there's not much more that could be done to get kids attention, and that seems a little fucked up.

But I'm sure it rakes in cash and YouTube can't even be bothered to police the ads it runs so I'm sure it'll never be dealt with.
It's a single player game, so just remember nothing anyone else does impacts your experience. Only you can do that for yourself.
