I couldn't live in a big city period.
Don't like it? Don't watch it. It's that simple

People suck. Idk why anyone would want to live somewhere with such a high concentration of them
after years of waiting

This traffic alone pisses me off. Also roads in general. I like curvy back roads out in the rural areas.
I put my heart and soul into my work and I fear I have lost my mind in the process
I mean, you can have fun visiting a place but not want to live there. And big city life isn't for everyone.

Only time I went to NYC, like a block after we got out of our car this belligerent drugged up dude ran up to the girl in our group and spat on her multiple times and nobody around us cared. Not going back

Never been to NYC myself, but I know for sure that even if I wanted to stay, there's no way in hell I could afford to. Maybe that's part of what the tourists are thinking?
Yeah it makes no sense. They act like the whole city is like that. There's a ton of suburban and even rural areas in or nearby the city

Wow, your birthday parties must have been terrible as a child.

I can take cities in short bursts. I got extremely sick of people asking me for money. It's like that in cities all over the world.
This is where cool people write stuff.
I wouldnt live there because my house in the Midwest would cost 4 million bucks there but I absolutely could.

I love NYC, particularly the public transport.

To be fair that's what they want tourists to see, mostly.

Wanting go to a place to visit =/= wanting to go to a place to live. People, especially travelers and tourists, enjoy short lived experiences as opposed to adopting a full lifestyle.

I like living in NYC so far (about 6 weeks) but I still wouldn't want to do it long term. People talk about how you can find anything you want at any time but the only things around here are shitty corner stores and smatterings of pizza, and Mexican food, and a few other things. Even the couple of grocery stores around here have awful produce and less selection combined than a local Harris Teeter back in SC. I have to take a 20 minute subway ride to get to anything of real note. And it's not like I live way out in the Bronx or something. I'm on the upper east side. And it is absolutely fucking filthy.

I wouldnt live there cause its an overpriced overcrowded shit hole. Dont know how anybody making less than 150k can stand it.

Understandable

There was a brief span of about 2 months in 2015 where I went and looked at moving into the city. I then was hit with the reality what I was making at the time was not nearly enough to afford a decent place.
