i don't think this is really the case

MT2 and SMT2 are both perfectly reasonable titles, and the devil summoner duology on the saturn are also quite easy by megaten standards

feel like nocturne and strange journey being outliers in difficulty set the standard for the series when in reality most of the mainline titles are pretty mild overall

if you are the kind of person who likes drawing paper maps, potentially losing hours of progress in seconds, doesn't mind that the game has a password system instead of save points (there's only 1 password spot and it's on the first floor of the first dungeon)

then yes

The moment when capcom opts to just make 1 single design for each armor in a monster hunter game post wilds is when you will see the monster hunter fandom in rage mode.
they already dumbed down the armors in world by removing the blade/gunner design split
