Very disappointing game
It is an amazing game. It wears its influences on its sleeve and that annoys some people, but it is damned good.
I was expecting it to have a great cast, interesting story and character development like the game it was so heavily inspired by (chrono trigger). I've not beaten it yet but it's boring and bland, the main characters have 0 personalityCompletely agree. I quit halfway through
I've heard nothing but praise for it except from the ever present "popular thing bad" types. So it's probably pretty alrightIts pretty cool for like 5-10 hours
Haven't got around to digging it out of the backlog myself
now Im confused, neither are (currently) shitposters
Its pretty cool for like 5-10 hoursPretty much. It's not "people are hating it because it's popular", it has some pacing issues. It takes awhile to pick up before it slows back down again, the story never becomes interesting, and it's incredibly on rails and linear.
and then you realize youve seen everything the game has to offer and its using is art style and music to compensate
It was gorgeous but underwhelming.Very underwhelming
I think stuff like this and Chained Echoes get super hyped on gamefaqs because people want it to be so much like some of the retro experiences they had when they were younger but it simply isnt the same for most.Preeetty much. I find it pretty much a nail in the coffin for of the indie RPGs is if my first time of hearing about the game is here and that it's "based on Chrono Trigger." People are desperate for their nostalgia to be actually tangible, but more oft than not it's merely deluding themselves about the quality of a game.
