Missables are a holdover from a time when you could otherwise 100% a game in like 6 hours.idk, FFX had missables. In fact I think most if not all FF games had them.

idk, FFX had missables. In fact I think most if not all FF games had them.yeah and they sucked there too
And what new perspective does this add? That it took far longer to 100% FFX than 6 hours.
Ah yes time to play Tales of Vesperia all over again because I missed the super small window that unlocks a whole bonus dungeon
That it took far longer to 100% FFX than 6 hours. And what new perspective does this add?
And what new perspective does this add?It was 3rd person.
It was 3rd person.Ha
HaYou said it was a relic of a bygone era where games could be 100% in a few hours.
Answers would be something like, Final Fantasy X was the first game to have missables, or something to that effect.
Mods!
You said it was a relic of a bygone era where games could be 100% in a few hours. There is no relationship whatsoever between these two ideas.
I pointed out that no, not really. You had once chance for things in various RPG's.
What bonus dungeon was this, and how was it unlocked that can be missed? You gotta visit a certain someone after a dungeon becomes available but before you complete it, and what's tricky is how much the game makes you absolutely wanna know what's gonna happen next so you don't even bother to look around
My memory is terrible sorry to have to ask.

Why are you being so vague here? It's been 15 years but it's still good to be courteous about spoilers
My least favorite was in FFIX where, not only were there a TON of missables, one of the best weapons required you to get near the end of the game in under 12 hours. While its technically possible to 100% everything in that time, you absolutely need to be following a guide to do so, so your choices are A) end up at the end with obviously incomplete sets of items/cards or B) turn one of the best games of all time into a checklist. Fucking lame.I agree this was an awful decision in that game. Small correction -- it's still possible to max out on cards even if that weapon is missed.

Fucking lame. There is no 100% FF9. Even if you get everything possible in game, you still missed out on the fun you would of had playing the game normally and enjoying it without worrying about Steiners best sword that you wouldn't use anyway. Sure it has the highest attack value, but it also has the holy element which most end game enemies resist.
In FF 7 you can just miss two ultimate weapons, one is far out of the way
In FF 7 you can just miss two ultimate weapons, one is far out of the wayI thought Barrett's Missing Score was the only ultimate weapon that's actually missable in the OG.
I thought Barrett's Missing Score was the only ultimate weapon that's actually missable in the OG.Also Cait Sith's but forgetting about him was the right choice.
Also Cait Sith's but forgetting about him was the right choice.Oops, but it's true I never use him in battle.

Dont play Elden RingThis is why my OCD ridden self had to use guides on my first playthrough of the game, even though I would have preferred to play blind and get surprised with exploring. I just cannot stand From Softwares ridiculous missables in their games, and Elden Ring has it the worst. So much is missable that its ridiculous but I just have to experience it all my first playthrough
