Don't care for the Mario Movie and this sequel by extension but I do want those cookies. Little Yoshi egg cookies are cute as hell.

Animals that better represent them, especially since the origins of each aren't particularly inspired anyway (the donkey was picked for the meme because people called Jackson a jackass and the elephant was picked because everyone was ignoring 'the elephant in the room' or something, I was too bored to read further).

I'm open to ideas, but here are my suggestions:

Republicans: Wasp. The wasp is the big bad asshole of the ecosystem. It stings foes, it stings friends, it stings neutrals. It stings anything it can point its ass at except other wasps. It's a being of pure hate, angry from the moment it's born and desperate to make sure nobody is having a good time anywhere it goes.

Democrats: Chihuahua. The chihuahua is a shivering little asshole that likes to act tough and hard until it faces any opposition whatsoever. Then it yelps and runs away with its tail between its legs. It has a big bark but very little bite both figuratively and literally. Not the kind of dog that should be protecting the home. But you bring it home anyway because hey, at least it's not a wasp.

Also, we need a new party. Is green taken? Their mascot could be the T-rex. How do we make this happen?

I knew this without having to have it tweeted to me. And so should the dems have known. They're a joke to the repubs at this point.

I'm a food banker. This shutdown has fucking sucked for me and my team. But we were happy to meet the increased need and offset as much of the loss of benefits as we had to, if it meant that we were standing behind a team of people who were standing for us, for our healthcare costs, for our rights.

But these people don't stand for anything, and now all of this struggle has been for nothing. They damn sure don't stand for us. I'll never vote red, but I'm only voting blue out of opposition to red, not in support of blue. Red are monsters, blue are cowards. How do we make green happen? There has to be a way. The animal could be a T-rex. T-rex beats elephant or donkey (obviously the elephant will put up more of a fight, the donkey is a little bitch that quivers in the corner).

He never should have won to begin with. Those Americans who voted for him chose a celebrity billionaire over a seasoned politician because they're sexist, racist meme-addicted morons. I also felt very certain that a celebrity billionaire would look out for the working class though, so I understood (that they were stupid).
When he was elected, though, I didn't think it would be that bad. I thought there were safeguards and protections in place and that the people with real power would still be calling the shots.
I was shocked at just how bad he was, but mostly it was just embarrassing until Covid hit, when suddenly gross incompetence turned deadly for millions of people.

But nothing could have prepared me for 2025. I mean, except for the entire first term of evidence that re-electing him would be an awful idea, the attempted coup, the Project 2025 release that publicized their terrible plans, the Supreme Court giving the president supreme power, and he himself openly stating everything that he planned to do as well as swearing revenge on his political enemies.

But other than that, we just had no warning really. So I guess I wasn't surprised that he was elected again, especially not when his opposition was a black (gasp!) woman (Gasp!) who laughed (GASP!). The choice between Neo Hitler and a laughing black woman with sensible policies and an America-first attitude is an obvious one: Neo Hitler, duh.

Now we're speedrunning the downfall of the nation. Or making it great again. The centrists still aren't sure. It really depends on whether you ask a sane person or a cultist.

C. The costs outweigh the benefits and the people selling it are lying about what it is and what it can do. Corporations are buying those lies because they get raging hard-ons at the idea of laying off millions.

In addition to this people are using it as a thinking substitute, and in addition to that it has massive electricity and water costs and is burning through clean water at alarming rates, and in addition to THAT it's rapidly overtaking real art and content made by actual human beings. And in addition to all that it's such a massively dangerous political weapon that even the medical benefits don't seem worth it by comparison.

The truth no longer matters, anyone can generate any message or content they want and share it with the masses, and to make it all worse they have AI running on social media platforms that they own that they are actively reprogramming with their narrative.

Grok, the one backed by the dude who threw two nazi salutes, was actively engaged in politics at the time despite owning one of the world's largest social media platforms, going full nazi was the biggest warning sign of what they're doing with it and what's to come I think we could have possibly been given, and yet nothing was done.

We're in a race to the bottom and AI is the clown car they're packing us all into.

I feel like the nukes are a bit of an empty threat. All the power players have nukes, so everyone fears retaliation in equal measure and we also want each others' land and resources, plus we all trade internationally and depend on each other for key resources, equipment, etc.

But then again, the world is very stupid these days so who knows, maybe we really will just blast ourselves back to the bronze age.

"We're not getting our way so we're going to deliberately disrupt the entire nation until someone kowtows to us," that's literally it. It's just silly, childish nonsense. It's pure garbage, it has no place in any reasonable, responsible government.

Here's a fun fact. People in congress still get paid during a shutdown. Congress could simply never open the government up and they would still get paid for doing nothing.
This fun fact is not fun. I'm not having any fun. I'm getting increasingly angry in fact, so much so that I researched this to confirm it was true. This would be considered time theft at any other job. Absolutely fucking ridiculous that we hold McDonalds employees to higher standards than one of the highest branches of government.
That can suck my entire dick - balls and all.
There's a time and place for everything... but not now.
Sounds right. That's how it should be. Abject failure to do their jobs for such a critical process that millions of people depend on should result in immediate forfeiture. I'm not saying that's what I want to happen but that needs to be the stakes to prevent it from happening because frankly it's just ridiculous at the conceptual level. Fundamental mismanagement, critical failure to be good stewards of taxpayer dollars, abhorrent time mismanagement and shows a complete disregard for the American people the government serves.
There's a time and place for everything... but not now.
If the government were to permanently shut down, would that mean a new government can be installed? Are all currently seated officials considered terminated?
Shutting down the government has never sounded real to me. It just doesn't make sense. It's still effectively in place and can reopen at any time. And it's taxpayer funded, right? So who gives them the right to 'shut it down'? The government works for us and I don't recall authorizing any shutdown. Get your asses back to work!

I tried to google it a little so as not to be completely ignorant and it says it's a result of budget disputes between the two parties... but the two parties together form our one government and they all work for us and it's our money they're pissing about. I don't understand the concept of 'closing it', it sounds to me like every single one of them failed to do their jobs and needs to be held accountable. I'm going full Karen here. This is completely unacceptable and I want to speak to the manager.

Is there a way to turn off that ai crap? It's blatantly wrong more than anything and far from helpful
No. We, as a society, have collectively decided that AI is the future. Everything must be AI. All apps, all services, all websites, AI. Your TV, your phone, your computer, even programs like humble Notepad. AI.

And by 'we' I mean the multi-billion dollar companies who have boners the size of skyscrapers because they think AI means they'll get to lay everyone off and make infinite money forever, and the tech sector who are currently making infinite money telling everyone AI can do that and so much more.

AI fridge. AI toaster. AI toilet. AI car. The possibilities are endless(ly bad).

I'm so fucking sick of it already. AI is junk to me, I know there are some good use-cases for it but the bad far outweighs the good already and it's just going to keep getting worse. And I'm pretty sure there's more AI content on the internet now than not which is insane but you can't go anywhere at all without being endlessly inundated with it, and many people are trying to pass it off as real content and many more people don't care and watch it anyway.

Pandora's box is open and there's no closing it. This is just how things are now. Shitty and dumb.
