I was going to make a similar comment (surprised he isn't saying they were rigged) as well but honestly that's almost smart for him. He rubbishes the losers (Trump hates losers after all) while also cementing that he is the one who is indispensable for the party if it wants power.

Let us hope that Trump doesn't actually go through with his threats to not fund cities that elect these Democratic politicians and/or try to deport Mamdani. He needs *someone* to tell him that no, he cannot do that. And with even Republicans trying to block his tariff usage there's a slight hope for it.

I mean the thing is he's really not wrong. The GOP was rapidly losing popularity before him and even now, they drastically underperform when his name isn't on the ballot.

He's got the Republican Party completely by the balls and there's a reason Republicans are entertaining the idea of him getting a 3rd term; he's all they have.
