Yeah, almost every job I've ever had. My first 2 jobs u didn't walk out of, but was laid off and put in my notice.

Gas station job, had horrible and corrupt management. I had to work totally unreasonable hours and they refused to pay. We were supposed to get paid every other Friday. But the boss claimed it was the 1st and 15th of the month. But then when it came time to pay, he said the 1st or 15th had to land on a Friday in order to get paid. After a very long argument between him and the rest of the employees, he did eventually start paying. Of course we got cheated because he claimed we were being paid early so he charged a fee. I ended up being his one and only employee left at the end, and I requested 1 day off. He promised to cover, but then he changed his mind because he didn't want to cover. So I quit. Told him I wasn't coming back, then he agreed to let me have the day off but it was too late.

Next job was at an interstate rest area. My parents worked there and got me on. But then later it turned out my dad was sleeping with my boss, which caused mom to quit. My boss came to me and told me I had to choose between my job or my mom and if I stayed it meant I was on hers and dad's side. So I walked out. She eventually left the job and the new manager called for me to come back, and I did. But I ended up walking out again about 2 years later after more drama was stirred up and things were being done to drag me into it.

After that is my hotel job, which I walked out if twice and was asked to return twice. Currently in my 7th or 8th year there. Anyway, more corrupt management, somehow even more scummy and sleazy than my gas station boss. Would absolutely screw you over in order to look better himself or get a bonus. He tried that with me once, but I saw it coming and talked with a coworker, they offered to switch shifts with me. I explained that if I was right, that things would be pinned in them instead of me. They agreed anyway. I was right, things got pinned in them, and they walked out. With me right behind.

Later the entire management team, and all but 1 employee was fired. They were desperate for workers and I was asked to return. I reluctantly did, and the new management team was absolutely wonderful. By far the best people I've ever worked with. It was great. But then Covid hit, and tanked our numbers. The owner of the hotel looked at the old fudged numbers from before Covid, and the new numbers from after, and decided he liked the old numbers better. Fired the new team and brought in the old manager. He immediately began cutting corners, cheating people, and fudging the numbers again. Then of course, lockdown ended and people started travelling again so the numbers only increased... It stuck around for a bit but ultimately walked out due to abusive behavior from the new staff.

About 9 months later they called and asked me to return. I told them I didn't want to, but I was promised to only be worked 2 days a week(being overworked was part of why I quit). That I would be treated better and such. It's been about a year and a half since I went back, and it's the same as before. They do tend to keep me on 2 days a week, but I'm the first to be called to cover other people's vacations. Which tends to put me on 14-21 days in a row with no days off on all 3 different shifts. That happens about every other month. Not sure how much longer I'll last if it keeps up.

Reminds me of my niece's husband's brother. Was driving his car at about 5am back in October 2017, and went flying over a blind hill, and right into the side of an 18-wheeler that was turning into a gas station. Pronounced dead at the scene.

A similar thing happened to a classmate of mine in high school. There's a hill in town nicknamed "bird hill" because if you have any speed at all going over it you'll jump. It's steep on the other side so you'll go pretty far before "landing".

She had just gotten her license and was one of the first times she was allowed to drive unsupervised. She gathered her friends to watch her jump bird hill and totally wiped out. She died right there with her friends watching after crashing.

There's so many people that get hurt there, not just by jumping it, but also because you can't see over it from either side. As far as I know, now only the people that live on that street use that road, despite it cutting right through the edge of town.

Some YouTube videos I've seen about the show have mentioned it being written already. So it seems so. They mentioned that guy being involved with that script too.

The home we lived in when I was born was just downhill from one. But I wouldn't say we were next to it though. I barely remember that place anyway. We moved across town when I was like 4.

Thats exactly what their concern was.

I must've missed part then. I thought their only concern was about how to undo the process. I don't recall anything about them reactivating by defeating Magneto. They were shut off by a EMP like Cable did to Trask. Trask didn't reactivate when Magneto hit him with a second one. The others shouldn't either.

If anything, it'd be Bastion who could reboot them and Scott wasn't on the team to stop Bastion.

Oh well. Guess we'll see how it all plays out next week. In the end, it's just a cartoon and I shouldn't think too much about it.

Scott was also an idiot for stopping Xavier. I know, emotional of Jean but come on. You're not getting another chance at it.

Yeah, he said the other team needed more time and that's why he stopped him... But more time for what? They were on separate missions, and if Charles didn't stop Magneto then the other team is screwed too.

Like, Magneto being stopped wouldn't affect the other team at all except give them relief that the planet was saved. Unless, are we supposed to think the Prime Sentinels will reactivate if the planet shifts again? That didn't seem to be a concern. But that's the only way I can see stalling on defeating Magneto would buy the other team any time.

Edit: Oh, I remembered more stuff that felt out of place. Charles sleeps in his bed, but then the next morning he's blocked from exiting due to some rubble. How'd he get in then? Also, wasn't his hover chair crushed? He had to use a regular wheelchair to move around the mansion(thus being blocked by rubble). Then he's using his hover chair again when confronting Magneto.

Maybe I am just being nitpicky, but there was a lot of moments that took me out of the episode. Which is disappointing because all the other episodes pulled me in. I still very much enjoyed it, it just didn't feel like matched the previous episodes, imo.

I can hear the drums of liberation.

Anyone else think this episode felt off? Like some things just didn't line up properly after everything fit perfectly before.

Like mentioned above, Roberto and Jubilee escaping being jailed. Then Storm also just happens to arrive precisely at the exact alleyway when she's needed. Then Storm and Jean having a casual conversation in front of the Blackbird doorway while sentinels are attacking. Like, it would show sentinels following the jet, then show clear skies and unconcerned X-Men to then cut right back to them being attacked? Then sending Wolverine to Magneto... He should've been on the other team and convinced Nightcrawler to sneak him there to try and help Rogue or something. It'd help explain his sneak attack too.

It just felt like a lot of conveniences and continuity stuff was happening to position characters where they needed to be.

Not saying it's a bad episode, but after all the previous ones were handled perfectly, this one felt sloppy.

Thank you for sharing, and I am sorry you had to go through such horrible crap. My dad had his bad days too, nothing as extremely bad as you described thankfully, but still bad enough. Thankfully my dad mellowed with age.

Mine did too, sort of. He seems to have grown to accept me, and we can mostly get along. But we're not close at all.

Also, I highly suspect he's going senile. His mind is declining pretty rapidly. Can't keep things straight in his head. Struggles to grasp conversations. Imagines scenarios that never happened then believes them. I guess I should be sad, but I'm not.

I don't generally mind it too much. I really enjoyed Psych and Monk back in the day. Never watched The Mentalist or whatever, but the idea didn't bother me.

Though there's one that does. Dad leaves the TV on a specific channel and one called Unforgettable plays sometimes. I find that character very obnoxious over her perfect memory, and the writing and acting aren't great. So, it's kinda soured me on the idea a bit.

Nope. The time he actually tried to kill me I called 911. He tackled me and smashed the phone, and tried to beat me to death.

There was an issue when we'd call for emergency services with our landline that they'd go to the wrong address. So that happened again, but fortunately it was family that lived there and knew of the issue and told the cops to come to our address. So, it took them a long time to actually arrive.

By the time they did get there dad had come to his senses and didn't want to be caught red handed. So he was just cursing and insulting me when they arrived. Despite seeing me totally bloodied up and hurt, he convinced them that I was the aggressor and they kicked me out.

Me and mom went straight to the Magistrate's office, and they were furious at the responding officers. They filed a protective order against my dad, and sent cops to remove him from the property so I could go home. Then, when they arrived to remove him he was watching porn he'd rented off the TV. >_>

I still stayed at my grandma's for a couple days because I didn't trust him not to break in a murder me in my sleep. But I eventually went home, and he'd been guilt tripping mom. Instead of staying with his family, he'd chosen to sleep in his car alongside the road and was crying about being cold, scared, and hungry. So she let him come back.

That was the last time he physically violent to me, but he doubled down on the emotional and verbal abuse. That was like 17 years ago or so. So it's been a while.

Eh, it is what it is.

Yes. My dad is psycho. He used to interrogate me and mom if we went any where together. Like if we went to the grocery store and it took longer than he thought it should he'd be waiting at the door with a gun. He'd hold me against the wall threatening to kill me if he didn't like my answers. Then he'd ask me where we were, why it took longer than it should have, who we saw and spoke to, what was said, etc.

He ended up lining up bullets near the door with our initials on them. So we'd see them on the way out. He always told me that it was just a matter of time till he used mine on me.

Years later he did end up trying to kill me. He was trying to load the gun shouting about how I was dead. That he was going to blow my head off, and I have no doubts that he would have. Mom distracted him and then we ended up fighting the gun away from him. But yeah.

He did shoot at my feet a few times. Imitating the old westerns where they'd shout "dance" and shoot at their feet to make them panic. That didn't pay off for him since I just ignored him. All I was thinking was "go ahead and shoot me, and I'll finally have you in prison where you belong."

That happened at the hotel I work at. It's the main hotel and a cheaper motel next door. Both owned and operated by the same people and sharing staff between both.

Well, my manager was running the desk at the motel, while my other coworker was at the desk of the hotel. Someone comes in and tries checking in with my manager's driver licence and credit card. My coworker went ahead and sent them to a room then called next door and my manager's purse had been swiped when she wasn't looking. The lady got arrested, but I can't imagine how ballsy even that would be. Let so be recording yourself doing it. People are crazy.

Idk why he had to be stripped down like that. Also, yes, in this particular story and situation he is right.

It was nice to see Sunspot finally be useful for once. I wanted to like him from the start, but he's been totally useless. It especially showed in episode 4.

Anyway, it was great to see Magneto rock Bastion's world. I hope Charles isn't too preachy about peace in the next episodes.

Not really. I do have a lot of positive traits, they just don't add up to anything worthwhile.

Like, I'm kind, considerate, helpful and put others ahead of myself. But that just gets me used by people who know they can manipulate me.

Then I have stuff like being shy, quiet, and reserved which makes the people who aren't manipulating me feel like I need to be protected.

Then of course all the overwhelming negative stuff like self loathing and poor self esteem, low confidence, mental health struggles, etc...

No, I'm a mess and there's a reason I'm single.

This question frustrates me. I say no, tons of others say yes. Then sometimes, I see it myself, before not seeing it at all for years on end. So, idk... I want to say yes, but I can't.

Maximus was my least favorite character. Everything he did was just so dumb. The way he talked and behaved was off too. His whole character was just a weird sort of incompetence and stupidity. It really felt like he truly didn't understand the situations he found himself in. I saw it suggested that he's possibly supposed to have some sort of mental disability, and watching his actions with that in mind made much more sense. It was the only way I found him tolerable.

If it turns out that he's really just a dumb guy, with anger issues, then I feel he's the worst character in the whole show.

I think my sneezes are a bit louder than average, but not super loud. My dad fits more of what I think is a forced loud sneeze. He mixes his sneezes with a shout. He also adds a bit at the end. His sneezes are like Ah Shoo BAAAA! The whole thing is loud, but his Ba at the end is always just him shouting.

Same with his yawns. It used to be the normal "awww" sound. Now it's *deep breath* "AHHHHH OH!" and it hurts my ears for how loud he does it. Frankly, it kinda pisses me off as he keeps doing it louder and louder every time. It's just a yawn dude, it's a deep breath, it doesn't have to blow the walls down.

I'm into episode 6 now and looking at Maximus as someone with stunted understanding helps make him more tolerable.

Still not exactly likable, but easier to accept the things he does and says.

I'm only in episode 4 and Lucy is the only main character I like. Maximus is my least favorite. Ghoul guy just seems so mean spirited that I can't like him, but I'm sure he'll get a redemption by the end and make up for it. I don't get that feeling about Maximus.

Also, what up with him constantly being hit in the nose? Seems like every episode he's getting it busted at least once.

My brother has a step son. I call him Stephew, but that side of my brother's family isn't really involved with us. So he's really just done guy to me.

Or they are but they leave Earth on read because we aren't.

That would mostly be true if I didn't live really close to the border between Virginia and West Virginia. The closest mall is across the state line, and we usually go check it out around Christmas.

Only been out of the state for special reasons outside of that. Like when my dad's aneurysm ruptured and he was flown to a heart specialist in Tennessee and I went with Mom in case he didn't make it.
