have you
I had some success with it years and years ago but after my last relationship I tried getting back into it and holy shit it was bleak. I was straight up insulted by matches after they figured out I wasn't making a lot of money, and some even talked shit about my interests. I'm sure if I tried Hinge these days whoever I'd match with would end up calling me a loser or some shit.

Being (somewhat) attractive and charismatic while being broke and going through mental health concerns is a horrible combination.
Thanks for reading!

Yep. Had some success with it but nothing long term.

No, but I'm getting desperate enough that it might be time to finally take the plunge.

Yes. It's how I met my girlfriend. I actually had a lot more success than I expected, considering I have a kid. But it seems like women are less apprehensive about that than men are

Yeah. It's great, especially if you're in the market for fuck buddies.

Yeah. Literally never gotten a response after sending dozens of messages across multiple sites.

Nowadays its actually the normal way to meet people. Both men and women generally prefer getting a synopsis of a person before attempting to engage with them romantically, and also dating apps eliminate the need for awkward real life pick-up lines and hoping theyre single because its known that everyone on a dating app is single and there to find someone (or are cucks looking for a bull or whatever).

I've ****ed a bunch of girls from OKC, but these days it's nearly impossible for me to even match.
I've got the Oscar fever! Hope you've got it too! Pour me some bubbly now it's all you gotta do!
I met my past two serious girlfriends through online apps.

I am in my thirties. One girl in late 20s and the other late 30s. These girls had never married. One was a professor the other was finishing a masters in nursing. It definitely works but it takes a while to meet someone worthwhile.

Started on bumble about a month ago, got a few matches right away and went on a couple of dates. One was pretty meh and the other ghosted me afterwards.

Took a break, revamped my profile and got on tinder as well, got a bunch of matches this time and got a date lined up for this weekend.

Overall it's been a more positive experience than I was expecting based on the way people talk about it (though I imagine that varies greatly by where you are and relative attractiveness). I guess if you've been on there for more than a couple of weeks total the sort of shittiness I've gotten small doses of start to add up

It works. I've used it a few times.

Bumble and Tinder works best. They didn't lead to lasting relationships but they definitely matched me with women I'd go on dates with.

I did this at 25-26, now at 34 it seems like it wouldn't be as lively.
I always had the best luck with OK Cupid.

Did it quite a few years ago before it became the standard. Went on a few dates and had a few relationships but nothing very lasting. Met a few ladies from other countries in person as well. (Russia, New Zealand, Finland)

I've never considered online dating to be desperate or pathetic. There are all sorts of people all over the world who have the same interests as you that you would never meet otherwise. I refuse to believe that a person you're "supposed" to end up with is within a small bubble of your own existence.
Without truth, there is nothing.
I refuse on principle.

Yeah, it's only desperate and pathetic if you go into like that. It should be viewed as a casual supplement to dating. If you view it as the last ditch effort to find a partner, you're in for a bad time.

Exactly, I had just moved to a new city, way larger than any place I'd lived before. There was no way I would have ever met my now-wife "naturally", between work schedules, the size of the region, etc. And even if we happened to be in the same bar or whatever at the same time, what are the odds we would have had a chance to start up a good conversation?

You do realize that online dating also entails meeting people in person, usually pretty quickly, right? It's not just literally all online.

I have been married for 25 years, and I havent been on a first date since our first date in 1998. Online dating wasnt even a thing, and the thought of it absolutely terrifies me. If my wife ever does the smart thing and leaves me, I have no idea what I would do. Never date again probably?

I dont know how you folks navigate online dating. You are much stronger than I.
An opinion does not turn into a fact simply because the person holding it feels strongly about it.
I wouldn't really call it "dating" because that isn't really something I do, but yes, I'm no stranger to relationships that started online. They're the only kind of relationships I've ever had, including my current marriage.
Met a bunch of people through online dating, including my current partners.
