This was always the case.
This has always been moddableIt wasn't the case for a while. Actually being underage or plausible claims of it would get you blocked (but with a chance to restore your account by proving your age); but clear jokes were fine. Now anything is an immediate ban with no opportunity to reverse it.
This was always the case.I don't think they would ban you. They'd put your account on "blocked" status which is the same shit they do for people who talk about suicide and self-harm.
Why would anyone want to joke about being underage?
Pretty sure that has always been the caseJokes / memes were tolerated at one point, and there was a process to get the block reversed if you weren't actually underage.
So like if someone has a 18 year old account and say that. How can they get banned since it not possible for the account holder to be that young. The account could potentially have changed hands I guess?

Im 21 and what is thisDyslexic mod gonna fuck you up
I really hope STEROLIZER will explain how this is an understandable move from a corporate perspective, preferably in 10+ paragraphs. It kinda is tbh after hearing how the mod explained it, but it's again the kind of thing that should have been announced, not just silently changed then mentioned off-site after someone got hit.
Are you sure the mod said that as if it was a new rule, or did they just say it as a reminder? Because that's been enforced as long as I've been here. They said something to the effect of "CBSi were willing to take chances but Fandom aren't".
You also won't be able to prove your age and get your account back anymore. This right here seems to be the only change
I'm not sure what kid wants an old Gamefaqs account, thoughwho knows? maybe high karma, low user-ID gamefaqs accounts will become the next NFT fad

This is not true, it's literally always been bannable. I've seen people get banned over it for over 20 years. If you made such a joke and didn't get banned, you were just lucky and nobody actually marked it.
Can confirm, did get a ban for this until I got it overturned by showing Allen my ID >_>
Can confirm, did get a ban for this until I got it overturned by showing Allen my ID >_>The point is, now there's no overturn. You get hit, your account is gone.
Yep. I've been coming to GameFAQs since leading up to release of Sonic Adventure 2, which brought me to GameFAQs to begin with, and I've always seen people get banned for such a thing, unless they proved otherwise, the entire time I've been here.
No, not exactly. "I am 12 and what is this" is what I got hit for and that was allowed about a year after I got banned for it. Now it's not allowed again.
See, in my experience, this isn't true. I don't think it's ever actually been allowed, because I'd say I've probably seen somebody get banned for it almost on an average of atleast once per year, the entire time I've been here. Like I said, I've seen people make such posts and get away with it, in certain situations, such as being on a smaller board where nobody would mark them, or being in a busier topic where it got overlooked.

Im fairly certain TC is correct and there was a period of time where evident jokes were fine, the past few years at least, and its reversed course.
