Not really, no. It follows them largely to a T. Reframing "the protag is completely overpowered" with "but he has to die as a part of being overpowered" is not making the protag not overpowered, it's just adding some steps. It is also highly dubious to say that it's really subverting any of the other tropes. Like, the closest to being a change up is not having every girl immediately get into an ad-hoc harem with the MC. Which considering the tone of what they're going for isn't a subversion at all.

Ye, Frieren lives up to the "best anime of the decade/all time" hype. It utterly clowns on all of the alternatives in spite of how good some of the others are, it's just a modern masterpiece.

Ye, that one is great. Sadly it got basically nothing for a budget so the animation is sketchy at times + no one actually knows it even exists. Definitely one of the actually good isekai.
