It bothers me that they advertised them as uncensored when that was a lie. Then after backlash they lied again about their reason for censoring them.

Bother me; no. But, I am a proponent of no censorship at all; especially on an M rated game.
Somehow, not wanting censorship, has translated into - "You're just a gooner/coomer/incel/Nazi/misogynist".

TC means at least one outfit became more covered up / less risque (possibly more that haven't been discovered yet). It was shown in trailers in the original form and physical copies ship w/ it. But a Day 1 Patch and all digital copies have it changed to the other outfit.

In any case, terrible precedent and what stops them from "patching" more outfit changes later? Sony already feels emboldened enough to bait and switch people on day 1.
It's unfortunate, but not unexpected. I hope Shift Up is working on the PC port right now so we can enjoy Stellar Blade w/o Sony having their clutches on it nor profiting from it.

Censorship always bothers me.

Hard R was not censorship
Costume alteration was censorship.

Begs the question if there's already saucy outfits then what did it matter if the bunny outfit had more cleavage?

I'm more confused since the outfits are still too lewd for the quakers complaining, and toning it down would only make coomers mad.

Most of it just seems really silly. Is it Sony mandating it, or is it directly from the studio? If it's Sony, it's just another one of their weird, contradictory enforcements towards eastern games.

Changing the "Hard R" graffiti didn't bother me at all. I think that one was perfectly reasonable to avoid any racist connotations, and that doesn't even feel like censorship at all. I do disagree with the outfit changes though. The false advertising from the studio about the game being uncensored and Sony's hypocrisy for forcing this censorship when western games like Baldur's Gate 3 are allowed to include far worse just add more to be annoyed about in this situation.

EDIT: Also, sending reviewers a digital copy with version 1.01 and the already censored outfits while physical copies come with version 1.00 and the pre-censored versions so there's confusion and misinformation about what the "original" is seems really shady, and that just doesn't sit right with me.

They've done the same thing for Nikke, so it's not that surprising. Either way, the censorship shouldn't bother you (just go to one of those SFM subreddit if you want lewd 3d stuff idk). The thing that should bother you is the reason why. They have to cater to a lot of immoral govt and audiences. They'll always play sides that give them the most sales in the end, just like how they acquiesced to China and the ME regions, as well as Korea's majority gamer audience, most of which are incels

"Creative decisions" usually aren't made so late in development that they need to be implemented in a day 1 patch.

It bothers me in the sense that they marketed and sold the game on something that you clearly cannot get anymore. Beyond that? Meh, PC always wins for a reason.

I don't care too much about the game one way or another, it's just interesting I never hear anything about the game itself, only about how it's supposedly some salvo in the cUlTuRe WaR (although apparently now considered to be on the "woke feminist" side rather than the "based and redpilled" side). However if they were actually going out and advertising it as "the uncensored game" then they should commit to that, especially in regards to changing things after people have already paid for it.

This is mainly my issue with this, I saw some interview thing where they said that the altered version of the costume was their final vision for it, but was that mentioned anywhere before they just sprung it on everyone? Doesn't seem right to not mention that if that was their intention from the beginning, plus the actual changes to the costume seem minor enough that they could have just done it like that from the beginning

I'm generally not one to make a fuss about sexiness in video games, but there's something about this recent situation that's really got me bothered. Now, I get it, some might say it's just a risqu outfit, no big deal, right? But to me, it's about more than that. It's about the principle of the thing. Ppl paid hard-earned money for these games, and now they're changing what they bought. Whether it's a sexy outfit or a song like what happened in GTA, it shouldn't matter. We should have the right to what we bought. And don't even get me started on this whole "you don't really own the game, you just have a license" argument. Remember when we actually owned our games? It feels like we're moving further and further away from that, and it's not right.
