Fine but it's where Kari Wahlgren got her start and she's the bees knees>_>
There are only four good English dubs:Fake

The complaint department is closed, please try again another day
Sub is a great example of them all sounding like three year olds. Not all of them. Purple Heart and Vert, and most of the supporting cast, are normal. Just Nep and the Imoutos are the squeaky ones
At a fundamental level I don't take this complaint seriously because it's always made by someone who doesn't understand Japanese. They mistake their inability to tell bad voice acting in a language they don't know for being better acted.im not talking about "acting"
im not talking about "acting"
im talking about the voices themselves
you know why it's called "Voice ACTING", right?yes. can u like, actually read what im saying though and not try for unrelated gotchas
The closest thing I watch to subs, would be the Japanese subs on a broadcast. I have heard English dubs before though and especially in games am familiar with English voice acting. The quality is often worse in English, but that's because the industry isn't taken seriously for the most part. I encourage you to watch a documentary on voice acting in Japan. It isn't reading lines in a booth. You have the whole cast together in a big room reacting off each other and a director giving guidance. They do multiple takes, the actors have read the lines many times ahead of time and thought about how their character acts, they are familiar with the show and extremely engaged with the fan base. Most importantly they are paid a lot more. This is the crux of the matter. All that Yiu just dont understand Japanese to know its just as bad! stuff is bullshit.
So the issue with English dubs is you really need someone to naturally be good and self-motivated because the actual production is bare bones and the pay is shit. I was at an anime convention where Steve Blum had a panel. Someone asked him what he thought about Cowboy Bebop. He said he hasn't ever seen it, or any of the anime he voice acts in because he doesn't have the time. And he's a pretty good English actor. A statement like that in Japan would end your career. Fans would be outraged. It's just a totally different industry here.
its like 95% of guys too, but i straight up havent heard a dub chick who didnt sound awfulJust keep staring at words instead of the rest of the art?
why are dubs like this
Just keep staring at words instead of the rest of the art?ive got subtitles on either way. takes very little time to read a line, and its not as if the entire screen goes blank when you read the words
There are only four good English dubs:This is just the anime version of boomerposting tbqh

i mean the literal sound
how can you not understand that how they sound is still ACTING?Dude.
every woman in personaI think the dubs in Persona sound fine. My only gripe was changing Chie's voice from cool and calm in the original to the hyper, bubbly girl we have now in Golden. I'm guessing that's the kind of VA's you mean? The over-exaggerated ones that try to carry over Japanese mannerisms into English.
sub vs dub is dumb. if you aren't a Japanese speaker you have a bias for subs because you don't realize how cartoony/exaggerated Japanese voice acting can be dumb at times. Not saying dubs are always better, but the realize why it sounds off because you actually understand English and can detect the minor nuances better.I personally prefer subs because the dialogue is closer to the original than with dubs. With subs, you just have to deal with any changes the localization team feels wouldn't make sense to western audiences. But with dubs, lines can be completely different because they're also focused on making the lines have a similar number of syllables to the mouth movements. That said though, some dubs are fantastic, regardless of dialogue changes.
also i havent seen much animeYou should fix that. Tons of great anime out there.
There are only four good English dubs:I agree with all of those except for Naruto (the dub constantly saying "believe it" was annoying as hell). But there's way more than 4 good english dubs:
FLCL
Naruto
FMA/FMAB
Death Note
Code GeassThis is not a good dub. C.C. and Kallen are both pretty bad.
You should fix that. Tons of great anime out there.i watch some here and there but im not particularly interested. aint a problem to fix

He understands all of this. It's called a personal preference. He simply does not like the way it sounds. Anyway, block Crimson TC. He's a worse user than Beveren.
Dude.
Shut the fuck up.
i dont kno how to make it any simpler for u. if u dont understand what im saying u dont understand what im saying
what a couple of literal soft-ass bullies. Grow up.Says the guy openly insulting TC for not liking specific dubs.

You've got all the self-awareness of a cactus, doncha?
this is not a sub vs dub debate

Dragon Ball/Dragon Ball Z
Cowboy Bebop
Yu Yu Hakusho
Ghost in the Shell
Big O
FLCL
Full Metal Alchemist/Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood
Black Lagoon
Code Geass
Death Note
Stein's Gate
Baccano (it's about mobsters in 1930's Chicago, the dub nails the accents)
91 Days (another one about mobsters that nails the accents)
Ghost Stories (the official dub is hilariously unhinged and feels like an abridged dub)
Ascendance of a Bookworm
Eighty Six
And that's not even counting any good dubs that I just haven't watched.
Says the guy who uses an alt to bypass blocks to continue harassing someone which is juvenile and unhinged behaviour.
Forgot about Code Geass and and Cowboy Bebop.Yeah it sucks that licensing issues cause some anime to just disappear from streaming. A lot of the older ones go out of print and end up costing a fortune to get a dvd/bluray copy too.
Just recently bought Ghost Stories on Blu-ray, I feel like there's a ticking timer on how long that anime will be around before being scrubbed from streaming services forever
this is not a sub vs dub debateYou made a topic to specifically bash dubbed content, and implied 95% of it is awful. 95%?
