I thought it didnt come out till Friday. They bumped it up. Full season available now.
If they dont include glitches as a plot point I dont care.I'm still waiting for someone to just fall through a floor or something.
I thought it didnt come out till Friday. It's releasing earlier, I'm guessing because of good reception from critics helped with it.
93% on RT so farRight? I was hoping for that.
Starting episode 1 for a few just to get a feel for it. Big missed opportunity to not start with war never changes
I really hope this comes up at some point. Such an iconic line now
Does it have vatsHasn't come up yet. Keeping an eye out for it though
Hasn't come up yet. Keeping an eye out for it thoughOh ok got it. I'll probably watch it tommorow
Maximus is such an interesting character.Yeah, he totallyEverything about him indicates he'd be a hero, but everything he does indicates he's a piece of shit.
i watched the first episode. tbh i wasn't very impressed. so much setup. i think the pre-war stuff, maybe even the vault stuff, should have been shown later in flashbacks or something. i want to get to the wasteland stuff that was depicted in all the trailers.https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/forum/7/720d8e4d.jpg
this kinda makes me just want to watch Nuke Break instead.
They bumped it up. Full season available now.Mid conversation for the extra funny.

Mid conversation for the extra funny.Definitely. Or someone get sucked into a wall and their body spazzes out. Had that happen while fighting a super mutant in 3. Dudes whipping my ass and then suddenly gets sucked into the wall til I can finally kill it.
My only real criticism thus far is that a lot of the editing in the first ep was really awkward, especially from what I perceive to be a newcomer's standpoint.
Explaining this universe to my wife took a minute. "So there was this world that was like the 50s cold war era except they were more advanced than us in some ways and they all got nuked so the whole atmosphere of the universe is frozen in this post-war US culture but it was actually in the future compared to us" etc etcThat's actually what I enjoyed about the games. Walking around the wastes while singing about a big iron.

I think fallout is the only game ill accept with glitches because they can be hilarious.

3 episodes in and I'm annoyed at how she knows so much about the Wasteland and its people when she's been in a Vault her entire life.I think she called them that just because she knows the definition of those words lol. People from the outside came in to rob and kill them, so they're raiders. A dude in shining armor saved her life and fight the ghoul, so he's a knight.
Like she knew what Raiders were instantly and even what a Knight was but a fucking tumbleweed gave her pause.

As someone who's only dabbled in FO1 and 2, and beaten NV, would I still get enjoyment out of the story, or does it rely on understanding the lore at large? It helps to prior knowledge of the lore, but I don't think it's very necessary.
Edit: Avoided reading the posts to avoid spoiling myself just in case, so sorry if this was answered

My interpretation was that Vault 33 somehow had very basic knowledge of the current world above, and were at least educated on simple terminology like Raiders and BoS Knights. That's why Lucy instinctually pointed the Geiger counter on her Pip-Boy at her 'husband' when shit was starting to go down. But even her using her Pip Boy is just because she knows anyone from the surface would be irradiated. They know that there are people on the surface and they're under the impression they're basically all savages who need to be guided. I think they knew raiders would be a possibility.
IMO it's a bit of an incongruity that could've been easily fixed with a simple dialogue tweak (have Lucy marvel "wow, Power Armor!" and a bystander correct her with "that's a Knight, kid"), but it's not a dealbreaker by any stretch.
