The footage puts more pressure on an already embattled department. In addition to the killing of Ryan Gainer, the department has faced criticism after a video last week captured a deputy punching and kneeing a man under arrest in Hesperia. In December, a sheriffs deputy was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of cocaine and resigned. Last year, the sheriffs department also faced wrongful death and wrongful arrest lawsuits.

the execution of 15 year old Adam Toledo because the command was "drop the knife and turn around", and because he dropped the knife while turning around, and even though the execution footage showed him with his hands up and not taking a single step to or away from the officer, he didn't follow the commands as given and thus it's his fault he died.
