which article would that bei said i vaguely read it. But you say that for a fact all panera will get 20 bucks an hr right?
is this proven fact , so panera will pay 20 bucks an hour? article i said, said they would not. Not certain though. But did you personally believe those allegations against newsom? iirc he did not officially deny them. You seem really concerned with Panera workers. Care to tell us why?
All fine and good but I feel as a retail worker to be more fucked that way. Should have been Food and Retailyou like working in retail? yeah it should have been
In Denmark McDonalds workers make $22/hour
In Denmark, a Big Mac costs only a little more than it does here.
Weird how that works, and weird how you people never seem to bring that up. Oh right, it's not. You're just bitching about people making more money because you want to keep people poor because you think you're better than them.
Seattle currently has a $20 minimum wage. Fast food prices within the past 6 months have increased pretty substantially. Right now a Big Mac combo meal is around $14 which is absurd.Interesting. Glad to hear from someone whos actually been around this and seen what happens.
Even with the increased minimum wage the restaurants are still usually completely understaffed. With the ridiculous prices and bad customer service I've pretty much stopped eating at any fast food places in Seattle now.
I can see why McDonald's and other fast food places are so expensive these days. Paying that much money out for workers
Right now a Big Mac combo meal is around $14 which is absurd. It's like $13 here in Virginia which is a right to work state
it might also have something to do with their CEO making about $8500/hrIf you divide that by the number of Big Macs sold per hour, though...
Anyone remember when McDonald's and burger King had actually dollar menus?? Like where the things cost a dollar. Long time gone for sureFederal minimum wage was 7.25 back then.
Federal minimum wage was 7.25 back then.
thats what it is now as wellDamn. Still?
you like working in retail? yeah it should have beenNot really but it has its pros, mostly the crazy shit with customers I get. But yeah Retail and Food Service should have both had the spikes considering its two jobs that are pretty much core jobs to society and both industries rank in a fuck load of money.

They will reap what they sow in a few years when the unintended consequences start rolling in.
Just learned that Denmark McDonald's give their employees 6 weeks vacation annually, pay them 22 an hour, and give employees a year of maternity leave, their big mac is the same price as ours.
Wutup
Fast food CEOs make hundreds, often, thousands of dollars per hour and raise their prices over the years regardless. No one bats an eye.
Fast food workers get a bump in pay. Those same rich as fuck CEOs keep raising prices that they were already doing anyway. People flip their shit and blame the workers.

After learning the current price of fast food in California - it makes all the corporate bootlicker arguments even weaker.
The big macs are already ridiculously overpriced, may as well make it so fast food workers can buy fast food on their wages? Also seem these fast food chains make massive profits even if they have to pay their workers a living wage.
TRUE!
They have been raising prices every year since 2020 and multiples times are year in some cases. No one really complained about it (I did) but said "oh they HAD to!"
No they give workers a raise, "NO IT WILL RAISE THE PRICE"
Can't fix what wants to be broken I suppose

Everyone I know insists Biden is raising food costs.
Blaming the workers is news to me.
Why would they be responsible for the price hikes?
Everyone I know insists Biden is raising food costs.
Dude... I envy that you can turn off the news so you can never hear these persistent talking points across mainstream media and conservative media, and yet still come here and post as though you follow the news.
Well obviously the idea is to claim that paying higher wages would force companies to raise prices in order to continue projected profit growth, because that's our economic model. Massive profits are not enough, the profits must also increase in % continually every quarter.
But Americans would rather cry for the billionaire shareholder possibly making slightly less profit this quarter than thousands and thousands of American workers struggling to pay bills or losing jobs.
That's because you are a right winger and those around you blame Biden for everything anyway.
What? I said the talking point was news to me.
I envy you being able to be a conservative and also to not hear a decades old, often repeated talking point they trot out every single time wage increases are discussed.
That's pretty amazing luck, especially since everyone else here seems to have heard this talking point over and over directly from conservatives across media repeatedly.
I might not fully understand how, but I wish to be far left. How do I "become" a left winger, in your eyes?
Anyone post that pic of prices at a fast food restaurant raising only something like 15 cents after the new minimum wage law went into effect?
Fast food CEOs make hundreds, often, thousands of dollars per hour and raise their prices over the years regardless. No one bats an eye.Yep! Like the fact that everything costs way more than it used to despite wages stagnating for years. But it's raising minimum wage that's the problem
