No judgments.

I'll start: I thought Everything Everywhere All At Once was mediocre to bad at best
Most shonen anime is nothing special in terms of story (jjk/attack on titan as recent examples)
whats cat up to
The Rings of Power isn't bad

I can see this. JJK especially is falling apart in the manga currently
I think most movies and TV shows suck.
My maid will hear about this.

The Back to the Future movies aren't funny or fun.
Ghosts are cool.
-The Shawshank Redemption is just ok. Not GOAT level.
-Superbad and The Hangover weren't that funny. Most of the comedies of that era weren't so great.
-Nicholson is still best live action Joker.

When I sin I sin real good.
Goodfellas and The Irishman are meh movies.

John Wick 4 is either the weakest in the series, or it's at least a close second.

even though I like a lot of Korean movies and TV shows, Korean zombie fiction tends to be lame.

I wasn't impressed by Christian Bale Batman
Ari Aster's Hereditary and Midsommar are both mediocre films carried by thematic shock value and stylistic details. Neither film explores the themes present (generational trauma and toxic codependency) especially well. The stylistic details aren't bad, but are a bit derivative because they don't express anything that isn't already obvious in the film's text. Neither film is bad, but their high praise only exists because the horror genre is mostly known for films of a general low quality.

I don't like Gangster movies, not at all . Cosino , Godfather, Goodfellows I am not a fan of any of them.

I didn't like The Batman. Dude did not do shit until the very end, and he got people killed chasing the Penguin.

I also don't like John Hughes movies. Like the only black people in his movies I were criminals that white people were scared of and the Security guard that didn't have any lines.

If you say I am wrong, then prove that you are right.

I agree with Midsommar but I personally quite like Herditary.

I felt like people liked Midsommar for the wrong reasons tbh.

Ngl, this hurts me. There are so many times you post movie opinions or quotes and I think "am I actually SFM?" But this...Shawshank is my favorite movie lol.

Could be I just need to rewatch it. It's been about 15-ish years since I've seen it.

His movies are fine, but any legitimate criticism of Jordan Peele movies are often dismissed as racism and his movies are way overrated because Hollywood is so excited to have black horror movies with a black director and a black cast. He didnt revolutionize or elevate horror movies, he just made some solid enough horror movies.

Heat was a terrible movie, I went in expecting it to be a great movie but holy shit it was awful. The best actor besides Pacino was the guy who played waingro and the downtown shootout was laughably bad.

Eternals is a good movie and so many people hating on it contributed to the MCU falling back on churning out less creative slop.

I agree. I personally HATED Us, I thought it wasn't anywhere close to being a good movie. But some of his stuff is good.

Haven't seen The Irishman, but I can agree on Goodfellas. I actually have a topic here that's still open about that.

Def agree. Easily the worst Batman movie since the 90s. Well, except maybe vs Superman. I dunno, I had better sense than to watch that one.

I could see how it wouldn't appeal to everyone, but I thought it was pretty great. Still wouldn't call it GOAT level though.
A good comedy movie is a hell of a lot harder to make than a good movie of any other genre.

I loved Nope as a sci-fi film, but Us was a whole mess. I liked the ending of Us, but theres only one a time a good ending salvaged an otherwise boring story (Black Mirrors White Bear episode).
Vertigo is actually kinda boring and a lot of people rank it as high as they do because they feel like they are supposed to.
I guess I'm something of a ne'er do well.

I completely agree with this.

Nolan movies are boring and reddit as fuck. Now tell me I dont have the IQ to grasp his genius while I have fun with better films like Adam Chaplin.
Die Hard isnt a Christmas movie

I've always thought that 2001: A Space Odyssey is painfully boring and slow.

However the last time I watched it was likely in my early 20s, so maybe I would appreciate it more. I understand the effects were groundbreaking for the time, but that doesn't really make me appreciate excruciatingly long scenes of ships docking into other ships all that much.

Heath Ledger was not a good Joker.

I like the movie Surf Ninjas
Water+Fall=Radiation.
The Godfather is great and deserves its best picture award, but The Godfather Part II is just kind of meh.
Michael's (further) descent into being an (even more of an) unscrupulous jerkass crime boss is nowhere near as fascinating as his turn from a naive goodyshoes to a ruthless mafia boss of Part I, and the interspersed mini-story of Don Corleone's ascent from a destitute immigrant to a mafia boss feels tacked on, undercooked, and inconsequental.
Sigs are rather pointless, except if it's to showcase animation and images.
The Usual Suspects is one of the most boring crime movies, and is relying on its ending to impress, but the ending is completely superfluous and tacked on with barely any relevance to the plot.
...I think I'm done here...
The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly isnt the best of the trilogy, A Few Dollars More is.

It's a fantastic film, but it's also definitely one that asks a lot of the viewer.
Anime is good, but its massively overhyped.

I guess there are two ways of looking at it. Heath's Joker was a compelling character, but he was an awfully loose take on the character.

My first introduction to the guy left a bad taste in my mouth. That was the Joker. He just wasn't anywhere near animated or loud enough.

But he did a killer job in The Shining, and he single-handedly promoted A Few Good Men from a boring 5/10 film to an amazing 10/10 film in one short scene.

He was even a really good pick for the Joker on paper, but for whatever reason it just didn't work. My guess is Tim B kept telling him to tone it down when he would actually try to do a decent take on the Joker.

I guess that could be a hot take for me. Tim Burton movies are just bad. Just straight-up bad. I can appreciate having a quirky, unique style, but not like that .

That Silent Hill movie was dope and season 4 of Arrested Development was actually pretty damn good.
The Office got better after Michael left because other characters were allowed to have episodes where they were the actual focus and got to do things without him constantly butting in to make a dumb joke or yell
Casino is better than Goodfellas
Predator 2 and Rambo III were great sequels
