I want to get a gun but my state doesn't let you buy guns if you've consumed marihuana in the last year(autocorrect just changed marijauna to marihauna, I did not know that was a thing now).
but any drunk idiot(we have a lot of them in massachusetts) can buy a gun.

Pics?I will have pics when the gun is officially made available to me probably friday/saturday. NJ makes you wait days in an attempt to annoy people exercising their 2nd amendment right and it's a wonder it hasn't been challenged in court yet lol

Did it help with your insecurity and your irrational fears?Yes I feel much more secure than I already am being surrounded by armed security at work along with secure doors, and living a few minutes away from the police station.
background check came back, I have it now. 5 boxes of ammo. Also bought a stun gun and pepper spray for non lethal self defense, hopefully I never use it but hey this worlds getting crazier

People can shrug off pepper spray and tasers.
5 boxes of ammo. How many people do you expect to defend yourself from? Or is it for one really big intruder ?

don't do that. there's a reason cops don't. if you're shooting someone it should be because you intend to kill them.If you dont WANT to kill the person, Im sure a shot to the knees will do a good job.

People can shrug off pepper spray and tasers. Can't legally carry until I take a $200 instruction/use of force course and pay another $200(soon to be $400) to the state, and then pay those fees again every 2 years lol.

in an attempt to annoy people exercising their 2nd amendment rightthey should triple the wait and do more extensive background tests tbh.
they should triple the wait and do more extensive background tests tbh. It's already instant, and with no background check if you're a criminal or have criminal intent, it's called stealing or buying it illegally.
I assumed the gun range would provide the ammo. Or at least the indoor ones. I don't know anything about it though. Many ranges are bring your own ammo. The ones that do sell ammo tend to have it way overpriced. I got 5 boxes of 50 rounds each for a little over $100. At RTSP each box would be $29.99, and it would cost me over $150. Sure it's cheaper online but I was already there, so might as well.
If you dont WANT to kill the person, Im sure a shot to the knees will do a good job.If you shoot someone in the knee there's a very good chance you will hit an artery. If you shoot someone you have to be okay with the likely chance that you will kill them.

People and their damn glocks, solid guns but they look like LegosI've shot Glocks before and don't care for their mechanisms or their look. Nothing against people who like them, but I'll stick with my Sig.
The last gun I bought was a shield plus. one of the best guns I ever bought.I have the original Shield in 40 cal which is great for carry, but it's not really pleasant to practice with, so I bought a 1911 Commander recently, but I also splurged and got the S&W Performance Center edition which shoots great after working out the minor issue of the trigger failing to reset (set screw came from the factory screwed in a little too far).
People and their damn glocks, solid guns but they look like LegosIt's the ugly kitchen appliance of firearms: does the intended job just fine, but doesn't try to be pleasing to look at.
Do you keep one in the chamber? No I only plan on using it when I'm going to the gun range, unless I get a concealed carry permit. It's a pretty heavy big boy gun too, I can see why people like compacts now. If you carry this thing around you're definitely gonna feel the weight
How's the trigger pull weight?
Guns are the single most American cultural thing I just dont get. Completely alien concept to me, this just creeps me out for some reason. Uncalled for probably but thats just how I feel, its weird shit.ok
Ok says the person buying a murder tool as if its the most normal thing in the world. Mental. There is some serious projecting going on in this post.
how much did it cost?how would they know if you consumed? really, weird law

ask me anythinghow much was this, from an online gun dealer...etc..., isn't online usually cheaper but much more of a hassle? Would you ever buy a used glock?
how much was this, from an online gun dealer...etc..., isn't online usually cheaper but much more of a hassle? Would you ever buy a used glock?$709. In store in Howell NJ, I was hoping to buy a used one for cheaper that I saw they had on their website but they didn't end up having it. It's better to buy in person IMO, online in NJ charges too many fees and many dealers rather not deal with the hassle of making stuff NJ-compliant.

It's better to buy in person IMO, online in NJ charges too many fees and many dealers rather not deal with the hassle of making stuff NJ-compliant.so used guns are almost always pretty solid guns right? yeah i guess way better than buying a used watch. Still probably as good as new. Not sure if you would save a ton though.
Cry about it buddy
so you don't plan on getting a concealed...permit.....iirc some states are like much more strict to get one than other states, like night and day.Not at the moment, it's pretty expensive and a lengthy process. Also has a lot of restrictions that are currently being challenged in a federal appeals court so I'm kinda waiting and seeing what happens with that, I'm perfectly fine with not using it though, NJ has pretty low gun crime rates and I don't live in the hood anymore. Better safe than sorry though in the odd chance I actually do need to use it one day. All it takes is one incident.
so used guns are almost always pretty solid guns right? yeah i guess way better than buying a used watch. Still probably as good as new. Not sure if you would save a ton though.Well they ARE used for a reason. I imagine most are fine though but you don't really get to break it in yourself and it might have more wear and tear than you think. I'm no expert though and probably never will be. I would have saved almost $300.

Are glocks your favorite gun brand?

from what the community said, I was slightly overcharged.Would you ever want like an ar 15 or rsomething similar, like a long gun? Is there like a limit to how much you would spend on a gun, like a grand
I bought it because it was the brand I was most comfortable with as when I went to the range 3 times before deciding to buy a gun I used a Glock all 3 times. So I'm immediately familiar with the gun. If I do buy another one I'll get a Springfield hellcat or something. slightly unlikely I'll buy another gun but you never know
Would you ever want like an ar 15 or rsomething similar, like a long gun? Is there like a limit to how much you would spend on a gun, like a grandwould I get a long gun? Sure, but I'm not an enthusiast so I wouldn't drop like $2000 on a gun. My limit would prob be like $800. I have no real purpose for a rifle besides shooting it at the range, at that point I might as well just rent it lol
