Philips CD-IFirst off, how dare you
now it's at the end of its life cycle, apparentlyit's not.
now it's at the end of its life cycle, apparentlyActually, they said it's entering the latter half of its cycle. Which, given that the thing launched in 2020, would give it a six year lifecycle.
This is what you get when blind fanboys back in 2013 pretended that Sony were the "good guys". And for the entire gen they were acting so arrogant that they were blocking crossplay and mods, removed backwards compatibility, censoring games that were released uncensored on Switch, and are now deleting digital content people already purchased.
And ironically for all the shit MS got back in 2013, they actually ended up being one of the most consumer friendly companies that reintroduced backwards compatibility and created Gamepass.
There are worse consoles than the PS5. But it has been a bit of a trainwreck.
The dual sense control is cool but Nintendo did it first.Theyve been taking stuff from eachother in general, but Im glad they did. I think controllers would be far better by now if Microsoft wasnt so stubborn. Theyre literally the only ones that dont even have gyro, let alone other functions. I really feel theyre holding stuff back with way too much focus on simplicity when it comes to multiplats but luckily devs like Capcom do put the work in for other versions.
Considering it has direct competition with Xbox and has destroyed them wouldnt the Xbox series X be the most useless?
Series S

Xbox, by making their games release day one on PC, made it pointless to own the console. At least PS5 has exclusives, as few as they are.
LOL considering that Xbox accounts have cross purchase and crossplay, it makes Xbox consoles more attractive to own. Then why is the PS5 outselling the Xbox Series by almost 3:1? If people want to play Xbox 'exclusives', they'll go to PC. They're not buying the consoles and that's Microsoft's problem.

As good as it is for PC gamers to have this option, it reduces the need for people to invest in Xbox hardware.
The mainstream audience will prefer a console to a PC
Because it was supply constrained for nearly two years, and plenty of PS5 games just want to play FIFA and COD.Both consoles were supply constrained and even though the Series S was easier to find, people still hunted for a PS5 over it. (The Series S unsurprisingly outsold the Series X).
May I remind you that Horizon Forbidden West is coming out for PC in a few days, and Sony is now more focused on bringing their first party games to PC too?
explain to me what the mainstream audience is.
palworld apparently sold 12m on steam alone. Is this supposed to be the niche audience?
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/forum/5/52a5042a.pngAgain, old way of thinking. A decade from now we won't distinguish new games by generation. We won't say "that's a PS6 game" or "that's a PS7 game." It'll just be a Playstation game, for Playststion consoles (plural). Games with steeper requirements may only run on newer consoles, and as time goes on fewer games will support older Playstations. This is how PC / Mobile gaming works now.
Let's be honest: The Xbox One reveal conference is still haunting Microsoft. It was a disaster and Microsoft shot themselves in the foot and basically gifted the generation to Sony. People started their console digital libraries on PS4 and there's nothing pulling those gamers from the PS ecosystem to the Xbox side. Game Pass console subscriptions have stalled, it only seems to be the PC Game Pass subscriptions which are moving upwards.
Not sure what Horizon has to do with anything. I'm talking about Xbox releasing their games on PC on the same time as Xbox. If/when Sony does the same, they'll encounter the same issue with people being less willing to invest in the next gen of hardware.
It's very telling that despite all the hype, the PS5 has a whopping 13 console exclusives, many of which are VR games LMAO.People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
Please tell me where I'm giving Sony a pass in my post? I just explained why customers aren't switching to Xbox. I think Sony removing digital content from their video services is abhorrent and I applaud Microsoft for their focus on backwards compatibility. These corporations aren't your friends, you don't need to defend them so much. They're here to sell you their next product. Microsoft has a massive history of anti-consumer behaviour as well as Sony. Neither company are angels. The Xbox One used games debacle was only rowed back because of the massive backlash to it. Who can forget Don Mattrick's "Just buy an Xbox 360" answer to the question about people without a solid Internet connection?
Sony was punished for their arrogance with the PS3 launch. Microsoft got a kicking for the Xbox One launch. Nintendo too, if we count the Wii U. The difference is that both Sony and Nintendo turned it around. Phil Spencer hasn't changed Xbox's fortunes.
