I'm less worried about your safety than I am about how embarrassing that entire thing would have felt. Like there really is no graceful way to fail a bench solo, once it's sufficiently heavy enough. You couldn't even manage a roll of shame here.
I have zero shame about it, haha. Even in videos where I crush a lift, my facial expression looks like a constipated ogre so vanity is never in the picture.

It took me about 5 years to bench 315, then another 6 or 7 to bench 350, and probably another 5 to hit 370.

I'm a very slow gainer and sometimes focus on martial arts or boxing over powerlifting, so my progress is probably not typical. At least I have consistency.
5 years to 315 is very good. Better than 95% of the population. Took me a while to get to 225.

I got a request. Play this in your next video XD

@STEROLIZER Do you still lift seriously? What's your big 3 lift stats.
You guys live pretty close to each other. Would like to see you guys box. heh

405 on bench. Thats about all I do these days. I have my fight coming up, and my fight camp doesnt really include weights. I still go 4-5 times a week for fun, but since its just fun thats all I do. No squats, no deadlifts. Just bench and dumbbell presses.

There was a time when I did all that stuff tho, I was probably the P4P strongest person on GameFaqs. But not anymore.

Edit: Me and @Pow_Pow_Punishment have never met up before, but he was once enrolled over at AKA at the same time I was. I think Ive seen him once or twice. Never said anything, he was in the regular classes, while I was just there for the pro practice. Little tidbit for you PPP

tbh if I could attempt a 4 plate bench I'd not be ashamed either

Oh shit, really? I've only been to AKA twice (and another time at the old Hillsdale location but that one closed). If you ever see me again, feel free to say hi. Right now I'm doing boxing at Dreamland, but still practice Muay Thai at home. Huge props on maintaining your 405 bench while fighting.

@Pow_Pow_Punishment That's cool. What program/routine are you running now for your lifting?

I'm running my own program, an amalgamation of everything that's worked for me before. Just like Jeet Kune Do! One day I might organize it and write a formal program out.

The most structured part in it I can share are 20-rep squats ala the Super Squats program, except that calls for "breathing squats" followed by pull-overs and I don't take the same level of care to breathe deeply between every rep. But progressing with 20-rep squats in general has been awesome for my lower body development.

I alternate every few weeks between doing that and squat strip sets (for example, one workout was squatting 540x1, then 405x5, then 315x10, then 225x10, then 135x10, then the bar x 10, all without any rest.

And yes, still in the bay area.
