Claire in RE2R clearly wanted to fuck him
All the women want Leon tho.Except Hunnigan
Isn't it interesting how in RE6 the two legacy characters of Leon and Chris are the leads of their campaign but for Sherry's campaign, as the legacy character she's the Player 2 of the campaign while the male newcomer Jake is the lead. Also a coincidence that the remakes they've put the most effort into are the ones with male leads while RE3R was clearly skimped and they skipped CV and 0, two female led games entirely, and it's questionable if they'll do them. Also RE7 and 8 are solely a male protagonist while the female led Revelation are spinoffs.
Even with all this, there's a section of the fanbase that's been complaining that the female characters that exist are too strong and is "cringe magical girl"

That's just shipping culture.Yeah and surprise surprise most people are.... you guessed it, heterosexual.

HeteronormativiT-Virushttps://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/forum/5/562bb454.jpg
heteronormative would have been if in RE6 we find out Chris had a bunch of kids and see his family
yet none of these characters have even got with anyone in fifteen years of RE2
this is not normative at all
I like to think that in a zombie virus outbreak, where you're on the brink of having the city/building/whatever constantly threatened with explosion, sex and relationships would be the last thing on the characters minds....apparently that's not the case for shippers.
Why must there be sexual relationships be in everything? Gay, straight, whatever else. There's more pressing matters at hand!
It might just be projection, but Claire has always kinda pinged as ace to me.
Games where the characters don't have relationships are....examples of heteronormativity?
HUH
This would be asexuality
heteronormative would have been if in RE6 we find out Chris had a bunch of kids and see his familyI'm not talking about the games themselves, just portion of the fanbase where they assume these characters are/should be in relationships despite them never showing even a sliver of attraction to one another.
yet none of these characters have even got with anyone in fifteen years of RE2

just portion of the fanbase where they assume these characters are/should be in relationships despite them never showing even a sliver of attraction to one another.
What the hell is this supposed to mean?
I'm not talking about the games themselves, just portion of the fanbase where they assume these characters are/should be in relationships despite them never showing even a sliver of attraction to one another.
so why do you ignore those who ship Chris and Leon? Or Claire and Jill?Because that's not nearly as prevalent.
So the people who ship those characters already know they're basing it on nothing.
But in RE, so many people just naturally pair Billy/Rebecca, Chris/Jill, and Leon/Claire when not a single one of those characters ever show any kind of attraction to one another. Leon has a romantic arc with an entirely different character and the only time we see him and Claire together after RE2 is in the Netflix show, but a lot of people still swear the two of them belong together solely because they're the male/female protagonist of a video game.
but your argument is that these are...based on nothing as wellBecause people typically act like they're basing it on something.
Because that's not nearly as prevalent. Why would it be? The overwhelmingly vast majority of people are straight.
reading too much into things. Like [...] Bashir and Garak from Star Trek: DS9.
