Do you support a $15/hr minimum wage?

No, minimum wages don't solve anything.
It ultimately doesnt matter.

Minimum wage shouldn't even be a thing
then we just won't be able to afford to live on 15 an hour and a lot of the places paying less will go out of business. then everyone that's making 15+ an hour will still be making the same and feel they aren't getting paid enough but their businesses won't be able to afford to pay their employees more.

so it just won't fix anything.

if you raise minimum wage then the stores would reflect that in their prices making a vicious circle leading to everything being more expensive
dont know why I even have one of these

Hi
You shouldn't be making $15/hour just to take my McDonald's order, I would much rather just order from a kiosk anyway so I don't have to talk to you
Hello world!
I think it should be a livable wage 22.50 an hour fuck the consequences

I mean, whether or not the price increase is a lot depends on what percentage of the labor costs is reflected in those prices right?

Yea. They already do it without wage increases too. Using that as a reason we shouldn’t have a livable wage is dumb.

Anyway, no I don't think there should be a national minimum wage if that's what you're asking. Seems like something a state or city should decide since all locations are different

Not for all states. $10/hr is better in most places. Minimum wage is OK, but honestly I think we would've been better off as a country without it.

No minimum wage means people have more incentive to join a union, meaning unions are stronger, and more unions would exist by now, probably even a union for entry level workers. I'd be willing to bet that the people would do better, actively fighting for their own fair wage than how well the government is doing, fighting for them now.

Fuck no

Put in the effort to improve your skill set if you want a higher wage

Minimum wage will always eventually need to be raised.

My question is, what if the minimum wage went up in some regards to inflation or minimum money to live in an apartment for 2, while paying for food and transportation costs depending on your local area?

You shouldn't be making more money than a new college grad by taking fast food orders.
Hello world!
my first job out of undergrad was burger flipper at mcdonalds smart guy

I hate this argument too. Your battle in that case shouldn’t be to keep other areas down, it should be helping entry level/college grads make more. “It’s not fair that a burger flipper makes more than me!”...how is keeping things down because “college grads don’t make a lot” helping anyone? How is it helping the college grad?

I mean... I see how it would benefit people who keep their jobs in that situation, but I also see how it would push companies to lay people off if they determine they either don't want to or can't afford as many workers at that pay range.

I think it'd benefit people more if they made themselves more valuable by increasing the value of their skillset than trying to push a company that pays you minimum wage to pay you $15/hour instead.
not saying that raising minimum wage would be bad by itself.

but raising minimum wage to $15 would make alot of people making just over that now be in the low income bracket and with the inevitable inflation that would cause would effectively cause lots of middle class to be reclassified as low class unless the current ones making just over $15/h get a big pay increase which just comes around to everything exactly as it is except now poor disabled people have to spend alot more for a loaf of bread due to the inflation.

Uh, you're wrong. Minimum wage has risen with inflation. Not always consistently, but it does.
So you guys dont want people to get of government assistance? nearly half of all walmart employees are on government help
And then those retail/fast food places fire 1/3rd of their staff and the rest get their hours cut to compensate.

I'm sorry that so many people are skilless laboroers.

The solution is more affordable education. Not throwing money at people for doing nothing with their lives.

That's not entirely accurate. It's a small piece of the pie; ultimately, we -need- unskilled labor, and there will never be an amount skill jobs that could possibly match the amount of unskilled jobs available.
Also you guys understand that “burger flipper” is not the only job that pays minimum or below the cost of living right?

Don't worry, there will always be lazy people who blame everyone else for their failures and work as a cashier at Walmart when they're 45
