Also in my 30s but I know my turn is coming soon. I've made it further than my dad or either of my grandpas but I doubt I'll have my hair by 40.

Being in my 30s was awesome. It was once I hit 40 that all the wheels came off and everything started going wrong.

For me and multiple of my friends, we've basically described it as our warranties clearly ran out at 40. Hair started thinning, joints started aching, eyesight started failing, etc.

I'm kind of afraid of what parts of me are going to self-destruct when I hit 50.

None of the men in family have lost their hair so I think im lucky and I'll always have mine. I've also had barbers tell me I have a lot of hair

I'm 30 and I really hope I don't start losing my hair, it's the only good genes I have, but my dad had thick hair until he passed at 54 so I think I should be good

I technically started getting thinning hair in my mid-twenties, but it wasn't really noticeable until my late 30's. Once I hit 40 I just said fuck it and started shaving my head. I was always worried my head shape wouldn't work or I would have grooves but it is actually nice and smooth. Helps having a beard too.

It is the men on your mother's side (your uncles) who you take after as far as hair. My uncles where all bald by the time they turned 30, so I beat genetics. I call that a win.

I think I was 25 or so when I first saw that shot of me from the rear where I thought "I don't remember a balding guy there..............oh". I didn't know how quick it was going.

At 45 I've got the classic male pattern baldness - little to nothing on top and a ring on the sides. Tis what it is. Just have to keep it short. I think my head's too lumpy to look good shaved.

Not entirely true. Some baldness is X-linked, but it comes from quite a few different genes. Having bald maternal uncles/grandparents doesn't guarantee you'll be bald, nor does having maternal uncles/grandparents who aren't bald guarantee you won't be.

This. Some is X-linked, some is Y-linked, some isn't purely genetic at all. It all depends on what type of baldness/thinning you have.

Have you tried using Minoxidil and Finistriside, OP? Depending on what the damage is, I highly recommend looking into it. Personally, I went with Keeps and it helped me tremendously over these past two years ever since I started to show a little balding on the crown.

Keep in mind, finasteride comes with a 1% chance of permanent irreversible erectile dysfunction. I wouldn't do it personally but it depends how much your hair means to you. I'd rather pay $20000+ for a hair transplant than risk losing the use of my weiner.
