GBA SP when I was 12 in 2004. I got the NES themed one.
First console I bought with my own money was the Wii. It was about a month after launch because they sold out everywhere, and Toys R Us didn't honour the $100 launch day preorder I paid for months before launch, despite the fact I showed up literally 5 minutes after they opened that morning. I ended up having to wait outside an EB Games for like 2 hours before opening in the January cold just to get one.
Did they at least refund you?
Yes, but I don't think I ever bought anything from them again.
The one vote for Atari is when PO bought his 2600 with money he made from his part time job in college.
