Money that you earned, not with some Mommy or Daddy or 'X' person gave you to buy one.

Me: Sega Dreamcast in 2000
It was an N64, though that wasn't the first one I had .

First one was an original Game Boy I got for my 12th birthday. Then when I was...18, 19, I got an SNES for Christmas, then my cousin got married and gave me her Playstation because her husband had one and they didn't need both. Then I bought an N64 off a work friend (console + 5 games for $150).
The world may be going to Hell, but I am personally awash with convenience.
Other: None.

All my consoles were gifts.

The Wii I think. Every other console before that was a gift.

Actually wait I bought a GameCube but not sure it counts since it was pretty much the clearance price when it was starting to die down.

N64, I bought a used one super cheap at a pawn shop. This was years after I had gotten rid of my first N64.

N64. I was given a NES for Christmas when I was 4, but I saved up for the N64 myself, doing a bunch of extra chores to get it. Those chores actually included balancing my mom's business chequebook for like $10 per month I completed, which in retrospect was absolutely ludicrous for me to be doing as a 9-year-old, but apparently I did a good enough job to earn my pay.

I'm pretty sure it was a Genesis.

SNES. I saved for a year after it's release. It was the summer before I started my freshman year of high school when I bought it.

PS2, It was the first thing I bought once I knew I had saved enough money to live off of for the next 2 semesters of college and the rest was just spending money.

First one I bought myself was a GameCube in 2002 when I was 22.
With my own money I think it was a top loader NES. Most of my game systems were gifts
"I, Garland, will knock you all down!"
I think it was a NES.. bought it off a classmate for $25 w/ SMB3

All the consoles after that I bought with my own $, mostly thrift/second hand store finds
It might have been Nintendo DS Lite

The first few consoles I had (PS1, PS2, Xbox) were all birthday gifts.

PSP, though I bought my first one from a coworker

There mayyy have been a time when I was a pre-teen where I traded some games and stuff to a neighbor kid for his classic Brick Game Boy, but eventually he wanted it back

It was the Wii for me. I bought it with student loan money, but I've since completely paid off the loan, so I'm counting it as my own money.
GBA SP when I was 12 in 2004. I got the NES themed one.

First console I bought with my own money was the Wii. It was about a month after launch because they sold out everywhere, and Toys R Us didn't honour the $100 launch day preorder I paid for months before launch, despite the fact I showed up literally 5 minutes after they opened that morning. I ended up having to wait outside an EB Games for like 2 hours before opening in the January cold just to get one.

Nintendo Switch Lite is the only one ive bought personally. PS5 will likely join the list though.

Always gotten them as gifts generally, even in adulthood.

Did they at least refund you?

The first console I bought with my own money was a dreamcast from best buy for $99

Og Xbox. Mom had already bought my brother and I a gamecube and ps2 and said no when I asked for an Xbox.

Saved up money. Anything doing odd jobs for family members for like 20 bucks here and there scraped up change saved change from lunches at school. And finally had enough to buy a Xbox along with one game. I was like 12 or 13.

Mom was actually proud of me for that.

Second was a 360. My mom had bought me one and said it would be the last she ever bought me. It eventually crapped out. Not rrod but the disc reader crapped out. Bought a replacement that's still running today.

Edit: I was that kid that had soul calibur 2 on all three consoles. Think I got one my self asked for another on my birthday and another on Christmas. Mother was kinda confused by that
I put my heart and soul into my work and I fear I have lost my mind in the process

Went gambling, manged to win $150, which was enough to buy a 3DS on discount.

I think it was my NES but I wouldn't swear on that. It was either that or my Master System.

A GameGear with my paper route money. We already had a NES, SNES, Gameboy and a Genesis. When we got one of those giant JC Penny catalogs in the mail, it was on sale for $80 with a free game. So I got the one with Sonic 2. My brother got one with Batman Returns. Batman ultimately turned into one of my favorite games ever. And that Sonic 2 sucked.

PS3 I think. One of the old fat ones that was 80 GB so after they got rid of backwards compatibility.
I bought a few with my own money, but I believe the first I bought on my own was Gamecube. Since the previous were gifts.

Nah, I'm not THAT old; the 2600 came out when I was 4 and the Atari 8-bit series came out when I was 6. I had an Atari 800, but it was bought for me. The first console I bought with my own money was a Game Boy.
