It'd probably be easier to just stop gendering the marketing of pads and tampons than to run a whole campaign singling out trans men, but I guess this gives more publicity. It'll attract negative attention as well, but the most vocal transphobes tend to be the sort of "man" that's uncomfortable buying tampons in the first place, so it's unlikely that will actually have an adverse financial impact.

The company says that trans men females who identify as male might continue to experience menstrual cycles even while undergoing hormone treatment to change gender or may choose not to have such therapy at all and so will still have periods.

They're explicitly called "feminine hygiene products" in pretty much every context, and all marketing exclusively features cis women. I can easily understand that being a source of dysphoria for trans men that still have to deal with periods, so this fills the marketing niche of offering an essential product in a more comfortable way.

this just made me realize there actually was boy and girl toilet paper Charmin (the little bears)... I remember the blue packaging next to the pink packaging

I miss the days when men's stuff was cheaper. Same deodorant, same shampoo, but somehow cheaper.

Clothing still is though. Mens pants and socks are like 1/4 the price of womens and higher quality.
