That would destroy my entire interest in VG consoles.i hate the Michael soft X-Box!!!!!!
X-Box just keeps piling on the reasons for my dislike to increase into hate.
Isn't it a Japanese law that a big company like that can't be bought by a foreign entity?no
So we'd actually get Nintendo games on PC?
And maybe Nintendo can take some money from their legal department and put it towards developing new hardware?
It might actually be the best thing for Nintendo. As it is they are very toxic.
But I'm pretty sure it would never be allowed, they are the third and only other console competitor.
And, are they toxic? Or are they just protective of their IPs, as they should be?Well considering they keep losing money, and purposely sabotage any and all community good will. They operate illegally and seize money from YouTube.
Didnt they already try and they got laughed out this is news that shouldnt even be news Arv wants to buy nintendoThe same email this is based on also says they tried to buy Valve, and we're also laughed out since Gabe hates Microsoft.

Well considering they keep losing moneyWut. Nintendo makes money hand over fist, always has. Out of the gate, too, unlike MS and Sony, which normally take years for them to turn profits on their newest consoles. Nintendo is an extremely rich and lucrative company.

Anyways, this won't happen, and good, as it would be disastrous for video games as we know it. Mergers and acquistions are rarely good for video games as a whole anyways.

Nintendo is an extremely rich and lucrative company.microsoft paid more for activision than nintendo is even worth lmao.
https://www.statista.com/statistics/216625/net-income-of-ni ntendo-since-2008/That won't load for me, but I see the sentence how they are down this year from last, 3.25B vs 3.9B. That's not atypical, considering the Switch is at the end of it's life span. Normal revenue deviation that doesn't counter the fact that they are very rich.
They are starting their downswing again. We have to wait to see what happens
I agree with most of this, but I think acquisitions of talented smallish studios can be a good thing. It's hard to imagine Nintendo without Retro. This is true. A studio like Retro probably would never get off the ground without a big one like Nintendo bankrolling them. That makes sense for smaller acquisitions, but it becomes concerning when big publishers buy other big ones.
microsoft paid more for activision than nintendo is even worth lmao.lol no. Nintendo is worth just shy of $100B. MS bought Activision Blizzard for $69B, all cash (nice). Market cap isn't the same as actual worth, and Japan doesn't use the rampant market speculation that America does to value index a company. It's the 3rd largest company in Japan.
nintendo, while lucrative, is not worth that much in the global space. about 57b.
Nintendo is worth just shy of $100B.just shy of 60b, actually.
just shy of 60b, actually.Read the rest of the post. Market cap =/= worth, especially when talking about Japanese companies.
more specifically, 56.1b.
You started off by scoffing at my (factual) claim that Nintendo is a very rich and lucrative company.
nintendo, while lucrative, is not worth that much in the global space.
Using what what one company paid to buy another isn't a counter-argument to this, and isn't even a good benchmark
Just go ask Elon and Twitter.
Market cap =/= worth, especially when talking about Japanese companies.
Arv feels like theres so much mention of this so people on social media get their views everyone knew from when Xbox first started that they were sent to try and buy nintendo and other companies
Well considering they keep losing money...Well, that sealed it. You're completely clueless to reality.
Well, that sealed it. You're completely clueless to reality. That's why I stopped responding to him after the first time lol
I'm sure he would lol
I've said this before and I'll say it again, Nintendo would sooner burn down their entire company (and the video game industry in general) before they'd approve a corporate takeover
Square Enix should buy Nintendo so the could do some kind of Mario Role Playing Game... imagine the possibilitiesNintendo litigiousness with squenix incompetence. Scary combo.
Nintendo litigiousness with squenix incompetence. Scary combo.
Squenix, earn a cryptocurrency, Nintendo sues you for having a cryptocurrency.
Square is just as bad as Nintendo when it comes to copyright.I'm sure but too incompetent to do much about it
Well considering they keep losing money, and purposely sabotage any and all community good will.Their last three years were literally their most profitable in the company's history. They had a profit of over $4 billion in fiscal 2021. Not revenue; profit. They haven't "lost money" (i.e. had a net negative year) in almost a decade, according to their financial reports.
They operate illegally and seize money from YouTube.Well, first of all, what they did wasn't illegal. And more to the point, they haven't done that for years now. They abandoned their (admittedly dumb) Youtube policy of banning anyone from doing anything with Nintendo games unless they were part of the Creators program in 2018. Their only restriction now is that you can't post any game content before that game's release and you can't say that your videos are approved by Nintendo (unless they actually are), which are both perfectly understandable provisos; other than that, you are 100% free to make Youtube videos that use Nintendo games/IPs.
This is kind of funny, because Microsoft reportedly tried to buy Nintendo back in the early 2000s. Nintendo thought that MS was joking with them when they heard about it.

Violating Fair Use to falsely claim copyright should be criminal. The problem is Nintendo is based in Japan and Japan does not have a Fair Use exemption in their copyright laws. Hence, Nintendo's claims are valid under Japanese law.

So Youtube has a choice - they can either enforce the claim for Japan only (i.e. block the videos in regions where Nintendo's claims can be enforced) or they can make life easy for themselves and just accept Nintendo's claims. Youtube being Youtube, it's not particularly surprising that they did the latter.
Square is just as bad as Nintendo when it comes to copyright.Yes but Square is so poorly managed that they'd never do anything about it. They expect everything they make to sell 30 million copies, then when it only sells 10 million they sell off half the company below market value. The fact that they still exist at all is kind of a miracle, they're literally held up by mobile gacha games and FFXIV.
Youtube is an American company therefore a Japanese company has to abide by American law if they want to operate in America.Doesn't work that way.

they also like to lie?
they hyped up ff16 as selling excellently
then in an earnings call it failed to meet expectations and it still hasn't sold as much as 15 did in its launch week
which also was a failure to them
