Heck, even now you've got the democrats protesting by wearing conspicuous colours and holding signs, while censuring anyone that makes a serious effort to speak out during government activities. They're clinging to some sort of idea that they need to be the mature, reasonable people in the room that keep politics respectable regardless of how totally unhinged the GOP becomes, and it's preventing them from accomplishing much of anything to stop the problems.
We have one party that has devolved into throwing shit at the wall, and the other patiently waiting for them to come back to the grown up table, but refusing to change anything until this (somehow) happens.
It honestly feels a bit like going insane, watching this play out. Like, "Is no one else really seeing this?"
