As awful as it is, that's on whoever let Kim wear that dress. If Kim bought it, then it's her right to wear it or set it on fire if she wishes.

My understanding is that this flute is made of sterner stuff and no harm was done to it, so it's pretty ridiculous to compare it to clothing which is much more easily damaged. They also aren't letting people (even rich people) just line up to play the thing... this is a special event and THEY came to HER; she didn't beg them to let her play it.

They probably wanted to draw attention to this previously forgotten piece of history, and it worked, but unfortunately it worked better than they wished only because it triggered the racists.
