I might just take over this thread to vent / talk through some grief stuff.

These last two days I've gotten "good" news about mom (meaning that she's eating and being alert). And so I'm tempted to start feeling better, but I'm also hypervigilant about feeling "too good." Like if I start feeling good / back to normal it's just going to hurt worse later. I'm trying to grieve now to start preparing, but what if that's just keeping me from being happy in the long run? I also think it might be better to "get it over with" now when I have summer break coming up as opposed to her surviving until the Fall. It's really weird and hard to describe, but I have a weird aversion to letting myself feel normal.
