Yeah I think the main issue is the worlds. In jobless they actually make the world seem interesting and spend a lot of time on world building. Each new place they get to is exciting to see. Different cultures and locales with actual thought and depth put into them instead of just "oh hey, it's desert city, now back to our characters".

And part of it how seriously the shows take themselves. A lot of isekai just feel pretty amateurish and silly even if they are entertaining. Like this seasons spider and last dungeon fall into this even though I enjoy both of them. The last fantasy I can remember that really took itself seriously was made in abyss and what do ya know, it too had a really interesting world. I just want to have a sense of wonder while I watch it.
