Edit: just realized they're all singles as well lol

I had no interest in that album specifically because of the singles. "What I've Done" and "Bleed It Out" just feel very uninspired, with repetitive and basic lyrics.

I do REALLY love "Leave Out All The Rest" though. Maybe it's because I discovered it after Bennington's passing, but it's just really chilling and feels very personal and real and emotional.

Those are the only songs on that album that I like, which doesn't make it bad but just not as great as the previous albums where every song was great.

Bleed it out rules

I am curious what the appeal of "Bleed It Out" is?

All I remember are cringe-worthy lyrics (the guy brags about having a filthy mouth and swearing in songs...) and the chorus just repeating "I bleed it out, digging deeper, just to throw it away". There's not a lot of depth to it. And the instrumentation is pretty basic, too.

The Little Things Give you Away is also great.

It's their bronze album.

I listened to the first two albums a lot as it was just in time for my puberty to give me that angst, and I have fond memories of them, but I just can't listen to LP anymore.

The Little Things Give You Away to close the album really elevates it

I love leave out all the rest and I relate to the lyrics

Shadow of the Day is the exact same way.

It's probably my favorite or at least most played of their albums.

This is how i see it as well.

Not as good as HT or Meteora but still great imo. In Between is the only song i don't care much about.

I remember how easy What I've Done was in Guitar Hero World Tour. It was probably an even easier FC than Closer, honestly.

It has some bangers but also some meh songs

How the hell you going to mention Minutes to Midnight and not bring up Valentine's Day?

Minutes To Midnight is pretty good, but I don't feel like it's great, and I think that's because it's kind of all over the place, like almost every other song feels like it's from a whole different band or subgenre. And I think it's because of that that a lot of people like a few songs on this album, but feel meh about the others.
It's ok for a band to experiment with different styles, but some measure of consistence could have made it so much better imo.

One album I feel was especially underrated was Living Things. That actually felt like a natural continuation of the LP we all know and love from the Hybrid Theory/Meteora era. Castle Of Glass in particular is one of my favorite LP songs.

I think living things was their weakest by far tbh

A Thousand Suns is their most underrated. It takes some time to grow but it's top 3 for me with HT and THP.

Uh... this is a joke right? You literally just listed the reasons it's accurately rated. It had some good songs, it's just that is it. Where as their first two albums you could listen to happily without skipping anything.

I didn't care for their later albums at all personally.

In Pieces is the best song from that album

Minutes to Minute honestly suffered from the success of Meteora and Hybrid Theory. A solid album that couldn't beat out what came before it.

I also feel this is the case with all of Linkin Park's discovery. People wanted more Meteora and Hybrid Theory, but the band wanted to try different things.

I'm all for bands trying new things, some of my favorite groups have done this and been successful.

But a lot of bands just run out of creative juice and fall flat, and that's what generally happened here. It's like Third Eye Blind or The Killers, their first several albums were interesting from a composition perspective and the lyrics had diversity and depth to them. And then the newer stuff (of what I've heard at least) just sounds low energy with some basic token message and repetitive chorus.

Leave Out All The Rest is the best track on there. What I've Done is catchy but it's also become a meme at this point thanks to Michael Bay.

I remember when the album came out it was hated STRONGLY for not being like Meteora and HT but as time went on the fandom started to warm up to it. Even before Chester passed

See, I don't know why, but the way I feel about that is the exact opposite. Some people described THP as LP 'getting back to its roots', and I don't mean to say it was qualitatively bad, but honestly to me it almost felt like it was made by a different band altogether.

With most post-Meteora albums I like a few songs at best, but Living Things is pretty much the only album I like as a whole.
