I just had a movie night because my wife is out with friends.
Watched Spellbound which made me water up a little.
Then I watched Nimona which had me sad cry, then sad cry, then happy cry.

I'm wondering, what has gotten you emotional lately CE?

That one didn't water my eyes, but I enjoyed it a lot. The struggles aren't ones I can relate to, even though I empathize.

I definitely cried watching Nimona a few years ago. I'm sure I cried at a more recent movie, but none are coming to mind right now.

Watched Encanto twice now and it got me both times, mostly because it's the first movie my kid has wanted to watch and sit through and theres a lot of questions about what it all means. It's like my kid is growing up fast

Not only is the music amazing (thank you Lin Manuel Miranda), but the message is wonderful. My Latino friends have told me it hits extra hard for them. With how it hit my pasty self I can only imagine.
Also, my kid graduated high school last year. I feel ya on them growing up fast (too fast)

I don't cry too often at films but Superman got me teary eyed a few times. He's just so kind and genuine in the film, he risks he life to save a dog from being scared, because thats who he is. He's the man who will take time to save a squirrel and seeing him do heroic things like that with the John Williams theme playing just brought out happy tears.

A beautiful day in the neighborhood had me tearing up from all the nostalgia of Mr. Rogers' speeches.

There's damn near 1k episodes from the show. Wanted to marathon, but too much, and i'll just end up crying alot as what he says hits different as an adult. Remember his "look for the helpers" speech went viral post 9/11

The mid credits scene gets me every time. Quite possibly my favorite movie scene of the entire year.

Specifically the part where Stack tells old Sammie that one day was the last time he ever saw his brother, saw the sun, and felt free.

That scene with the song Last Time (I Seen the Sun) playing in the background, with the flashbacks running through, is just pure cinema. Absolutely beautiful scene that gives me chills and tears in the eyes.

Also Nimona kicks ass.

Superman (2025) not because of the movie itself, but because my cousin would have loved it and I wish he stayed around long enough to see it. Superman was his favorite superhero.
