I've been watching a bunch of videos criticizing Helluva Boss, and it made me think of Glitch Productions, which made me wonder why the major animation studios like Disney and Warner Bros. don't make shows exclusively for YouTube? YouTube has more users than every major streaming service combined, and they'd have the budget and resources to make high-quality cartoons that indie studios lack.

Investors put even more money in production.

Like if kpop demon hunters was EXCLUSIVELY a YouTube production then we see the industry change. Like youtube is nickel & dimes production compared to the dollar production value. A studio like disney and wb not only have the resources but the network to put the right folks together.

Because they have their own platforms, which need a constant supply of content.

Why put your effort into enriching a rival?

For studios that don't have a platform, they'll get more from licensing to Netflix than they will putting it on YouTube amid the oceans of slop content (both human and AI) that it hosts. It has the lowest prestige factor of any mainstream platform.

why would you wish or think something like that is a great idea with current google......that would be shitty cuz they will infest it with ads and lock it behind anti ad block apps

Animation costs a lot, and YouTube doesn't pay a lot. Even original toons on YouTube that are successful are usually only making money by having outside revenue streams like Patreon.
