What is your favorite song from each? Is Taylor now bigger than peak Britney in fame and popularity , ever was?

Britney is usually compared with Christina though.

It's hard to even compare them. Britney is dance pop while Taylor is more synth-indie pop. You might as well poll on Rush vs Green Day

More variety in Taylor's music. Stuff like Blank Space give her the edge for me.

I would bet that in her prime Britney was a FAR better singer than Taylor Swift. Just a gut feeling based on nothing.

Britney, but its simply a generational thing. I listened to new music in the 90s and 00s. I stopped listening to most new music over the past 15 years in favor of podcasts while I drive. As a result, I couldnt tell you the name of a single Taylor song, through no fault of her own.

I give the edge to Swift, but as far as music, they both appeal to me nearly evenly.. which is to say, not a lot, but I have had some familiarity with more popular pieces.

Britney for sure

I cannot remember what any of Britney Spears' songs sound like. So, I voted for Taylor Swift.

I at least know a few of Britney's songs. Couldn't name a single Swift song.

Britney has more songs that I like, only Taylor Swift one I like is Bad Blood because of the music video.

Spears by virtue of somehow barely knowing any Swift work, despite seeing her name anywhere.

I think Cruel Summer and Womanizer are their respective best, and theyre pretty close. Id give Womanizer the edge though. Not sure who I prefer overall, probably the two biggest music icons of the 21st century.

Spears is a much much better dancer, but Swift is a much much better singer. It is also certainly true that Swift writes most of her own work, because of the varying quality (you can tell when she lost interest and just wanted to finish it). However, I accept that especially for pop music, "writing" is less important than the production team.

It's hard to say. They both have bangers, but Swift's music is generally more consistent for me. I wouldn't put on a random Spears album and know that it will include songs I like.
