Was Shinzo Abe from the same party?

She was his chosen successor from the more right wing faction of the party. Although his faction no longer exists the party felt the rise of far right parties like Sanseito means the party is too liberal now (the last two PMs were from the centrist liberal side of the party). Since the LDP no longer has a majority government it has to work with either parties to the center, left, or right to get a prime minister. Although most people thought they would pick the more centrist Koizumi, Takaichi ended up being chosen by the party. It's hard to say how long this will last or if it will actually win the LDP back the conservative vote (because they lost more of it to center right parties than they did to far right ones).

She is absolutely not a step-up from centrist LDP members and doesn't believe the same things. This is nonsense.

The first thing I heard about this new PM was she wanted to abolish work-life balance and keep people working for even longer than they already do.

Knowing she's basically a far-right fascist too is heavily troubling.

If you think Sinzo Abe and Ishiba have the same views you have completely disqualified yourself from discussing Japanese politics. Abe led the conservative wing of the LDP which Takaichi was part of and his chosen successor. Ishiba and Kishida are both from moderate wings of the LDP. Their views are not the same. Supporting gay marriage and not supporting gay marriage are opposite views. Supporting women having different last names and not supporting it are opposite views. Even their fiscal policies are radically different, which is why it is said she will return to Abenomics, you can't return to something if you didn't leave it.

Might not happen now. Koumeitou just officially left coalition with the LDP over Takaichi (she is currently the head of LDP, not Prime Minister). They already didn't have enough seats together to elect her (it was assumed she would appeal to other right wing parties, likely center-right, to get enough votes) and now they have even less. Could still end up with her, could get someone else, or they could call a new election. Uncharted territory.

The biggest beneficiary of LDP being a shit show last election was actually Kokumintou, I would expect that to be the case again next time. There are only so many young men who vote, and outside of that the support for Sanseitou is pretty low.

When is the election?

Depends on what you mean by election. If you mean when does the Diet vote on the next Prime Minister then it's currently the 21st (it was the 15th, but the LDP delayed it in hopes of securing a majority of votes before the actual election). If she doesn't get elected prime minister (which is looking likely) then the current PM stays on until April next year. It's possible they desolve the Diet and have an actual election, but the LDP has to know that's suicide (they will certainly lose even more seats). There's also the possibility the opposition center left and center right parties elect a PM (they have enough votes to do it), but this is pretty unlikely because their priorities are very divergent. The far right and far left parties don't have enough seats to be relevant for anything.

Yeah this month. Keep your eye on the 14th Japan time. The biggest center left and two biggest center right parties will meet and discuss electing a PM. If they agree it will likely be the DPFP party that will be the PM candidate (the center left party is bigger, but they need three center right parties to all vote for their candidate). That's currently the biggest factor deciding what will happen. If they somehow agree, they have the votes to guarantee the LDP is out of power for years.

They literally listed their three reasons publicly. There's no secret.

Her visits to Yasukuni.
Her attitude toward foreigners.
Her attitude toward corruption (she want to reappoint formerly disgraced Abe allies) which they described as the limit of their patience ().

They never said shit about China and the right wing conspiracy shit is getting old.

She's almost certainly going to be PM now because Ishin no Kai has sold out the opposition and agreed to vote for her as PM in exchange for vague promises to enact one of their pet policies (reduce Diet members by 10%). Hopefully the next election has their voters returning the favor. They aren't even planning to form a coalition government like Koumeitou did, just vote for her. They still need some more votes to get there, but the idea is that it is likely that some other random members will vote for her in the second round if no one defects during the first vote.

That said, once she becomes PM she could end up getting no confidence vote if Ishin no Kai realizes they got played (the members who aren't bought anyway). PMs rarely last long here and she will be starting out in a precarious position.

It was actually a British tabloid newspaper called the Daily Star who started a YouTube livestream entitled "LIVE: Can Liz Truss outlast a lettuce?". A few days later they also ran a headline entitled "Lettuce Liz on Leaf Support". The whole saga even has its own Wikipedia article:
