I know he lampshaded it when he first came back.

Louis CK was my favorite comedian. I'm into stand-up and go to shows in my area as well. I've consistently heard he's doing some of the work of his career. He also apparently takes accountability of what he did in his material and doesn't complain about "being canceled" like one would expect.

But I'll just take their word for it because I will never watch or listen to him again.

i was a big CK fan, I do think there was a way back for himand instead he chose to court the right wing cancel culture bullshit while gaslighting the public about the serious nature of his crimes

for one the only thing anyone remembers is the comedians he supposedly invited back to his hotel room and got consent fromwhen the very same story that reported that (that he admitted was true) also had a report that he would call interns into his office while a producer on the Chris Rock show and masturbate in front of them in the middle of the workday with people just outside, and that he would ask his co-stars to watch him masturbate when he guest starred on TV shows

then when he came back the crux of his bit was hes the real victim because he thought it was consensual and now he lost money and everyone knows his thing

No one is calling for his head on a spike, for crying out loud. Some of us just dont want to give our time or money to a guy who is already a millionaire and did all that shit. He doesnt have to keep doing comedy. He could have retired into obscurity and slept on stacks of cash for the rest of his life. A platform is a privilege. People who abuse the power their platforms give them do not deserve to keep that platform. Period. These things were reported in the original New York Times article that he admitted to

by the way, by the time the NYT article came out gawker had been reporting on his sexual harassment for years and he had been denying it for years. So even saying he owned up to it isnt true because he had been lying about it for years and people gave him the benefit of the doubt because of his tv show or whatever. it wasnt until the NYT report was so thorough that he simply couldnt hide anymore

The thing about rape is that apologies dont fix the rape. Those people have to live with that trauma forever, while he got to have his fun and still have his fame. Also, he didnt quit until he got caught, meaning he would probably still be doing it today.

C.K. concluded his statement by saying he would "step back and take a long time to listen."

But soon, actors, comedians and fans began downplaying the severity of C.K.'s conduct. Dave Chappelle even made light of the accusations in a Netflix comedy special.

"I became the joke," says Schachner, referring to Chappelle's jokes involving Schachner's phone call with C.K. "It does bother me that, like, I'm not gonna live this down."

"Making fun of the victims is still good for business," says comedy journalist Sean L. McCarthy in the documentary.

And about nine months later, C.K. was back onstage telling jokes.

When C.K. returned to comedy, he had new jokes about his sexual misconduct.

But there was never an apology, and Ryzik says that he only talked about the repercussions for himself and never for the women involved.

'It just seems like nobody cares'

"When you see women that are hurting and feel like they're crazy, because everyone's letting all these predators back while some never had a chance," says Kirkman in the documentary, "it really hurts, especially in this culture, where it just seems like nobody cares."

In Sorry/Not Sorry,C.K.'s accusers share their experiences, including the professional and personal consequences of speaking out.

"If something horrible has happened to you, why should it continue to hurt you when you bring it to light?" says Buckley. "That, to me, is kind of the more interesting question."
