Do you guys have one you use that you like? Or a brand you've heard is awful and I should avoid?

Thanks for any help!

I took advice from one of my smaller friends (5' 10" maybe 140 lbs) and bought a chair designed for obese people. I'm 6'3" 250 lbs and the chair I got has a weight limit of 600 lbs. I can sit in it for hours and never get uncomfortable.

So I reached into the glove box, another liquor store went down.

Gonna give the same advice as I always do, because the usual people are already spouting garbage again: go to a store and sit in a bunch until you figure out what's comfortable for you. Everyone's body is different. Don't listen to anyone else telling you what's comfortable. They don't know and can't possibly know.

For example, mesh chairs are hellish abominations, in my opinion. I have used dozens over the years for different reasons and have never sat in one that didn't cause me problems. I need fabric and foam, period. If I listened to 95% of the asshats online, I would be in physical pain every day. And when I tell people this, they still insist that I "just haven't used a good one" (because apparently their own God Herman Miller isn't good enough -_-).

Don't buy anything online until you've sat in it yourself. I went with a Secret Lab Titan, personally. I love it, but for all the reasons above I can only speak to build quality. Which is fantastic. It still looks brand new after 3+ years of daily use. Good luck finding your chair.

It's mostly build quality that I'm interested in, I can sit in anything pretty much.

I just don't want it to start falling apart in 6 months like my current one did.

Stay away from Fuqido FYI.

While it certainly isn't designed to be an office chair I would opt for a La-Z-Boy recliner. Been using one for 40+ years of my life. Had one growing up in my dads house and the moment I bought my house in 2004 I bought one for myself and I am still using that same chair and it is 100% my primary chair I always use. I never use my couch. Just the chair. I'd never buy some gaming chair. Quality recliner all the way. Doesn't get much better than a good La-Z-Boy.

Just go with a high back leather office chair. Should run you less than 200 bucks.

Signal boosting this. The "gamer chairs" are pure garbage. Back ergonomics are disgustingly terrible, and they fall apart too easily.

I would look for a used Herman Miller under $400. That's what I paid for my Mirra model and it was worth it for my back.
