Probably my least favorite episode ngl. Still enjoyable but there was a lot of dumb shit that pulled me out.

I actually forgot about the new episode last night. Just watched it. Guess the dying had to start at some point.

Also, Wendy apparently didn't hear the facehugger attack. Can she only hear the one specific one? I thought in the first 2 episodes that she was hearing the grown xenomorph, but maybe she was hearing the egg. She doesn't seem to be hearing anything from the other eggs, or the facehugger now. Seemingly just the one specific Xenomorph.

That episode nearly put me to sleep. It is amazing that a lab that contains deadly organisms that could literally wipe out all life on the planet have absolutely no security at all. On top of that, the one guy bragged about how smart he was yet he was dumb enough to literally go into the containment unit that had already killed a hybrid and try to drag him out instead of immediately hitting an alarm.

Yeah, Arthur has been one of my favorite characters, just because of him actually recognizing and addressing what they're doing. But honestly, he deserved that.

Also, was pretty funny to see Slightly struggling to pull his body. I guess not all of them got super strength. But overall, this was a pretty hiring episode.

Man I was dreading going back to the worst characters around after the last episode was actually entertaining and it ended up being as expected. I just cannot care about any of these people. I am so sick of hearing Peter Pan quotes. My favorite character is the android somehow.

The scientists think of them as their children in a lot of ways, at least the couple does. I think seeing one of them in that state would very believably override logic for a lot of people.

I liked the episode. Still have some problems with the storyline which is pretty hit and miss. But this was entertaining in everything goes wrong traditional Alien fashion. Kind of way.

1.I think we can put away the idea that somehow the eyeball monster is good that was going around the internet last week, right?

2.Nobody does dialogue confrontation scenes as well as Tim Olyphant. It is one of the reasons Justified and Deadwood were so great. The elevator was my favorite scene.

3.I dont recall seeing Babou Ceesay in anything else, but he is so great as Morrow. He was also great in the elevator scene, and has been for the whole series.

4.I am just not connecting much with the android characters, or the brother/sister bond with Wendy and Hermit. I dont know why.

Everything about Prodigy is a critique of the fast and loose, regulation-skirting, celebrity billionaire tech companies.

The obvious parallel is Elon Musk a man who regularly tries to ignore regulations or exploit them to his advantage. A guy who had saftey marking in his production facilities repainted from yellow because he didn't like how they looked. Who keeps blowing up rockets and creating environmental hazards for the people below. Who is currently in trouble because his shitty under-tested self-driving cars keep killing people. Prodigy feels stupid but frankly it doesn't feel unrealistically stupid. It feels about right for a company that doesn't believe in no. And has owner who who is just smart enough to think he is immune from consequences. Especially when the synth who is supposed to be monitoring the situation clearly has an agenda of his own.

I feel like Arthur was also believable dumb. His big characteristic is that he sees the Hybrids as the kids they are and genuinely cares about them as such. He didn't behave rationally in trying to rescue Issac, but he did behave how a lot of people would when they saw a dying child.

Wendy has been attempting to communicate in their hive mind connection long enough that they're aware that an interloper is listening in so it's possible they're being cautious and selective about when/how/what they communicate.

She's been chattering to the newborn Xeno since it first hatched so she might be imprinting a little bit on it, but the other facehuggers are already at their full maturity so they may reject an outsider that could stop them if she knew they were attacking people.

Unfortunately, he has to keep a low profile cause weyland yutani is planning an invasion. So for security, he has to wait for the right time to counter attack. At least, I hope that's what they are setting up. But also, I'm sure he didn't expect Isaac to die.

As far as characters go, yeah I agree I don't really like anyone. I guess I like the android and the eye lol but this show is like a 6/10 for me. An entertaining 6/10 but there is a lot of things I don't like. But, honestly. Its good enough.

He was feeding them rocks and metals it looked like. That immediately clued me in that they might be the one creature in the collection dangerous to synths.

Though I did think they'd consume more of him.

I think ascribing good or bad descriptions to a intelligent creature that otherwise cannot speak to give light to her motives is premature.

But if it is as intelligent as it seems, then from its point of view it was stolen from its planet by strangers, locked in a tube for decades and has now been locked back up again. It might be anti-human, but it's hard to argue it is bad for trying to escape.

It is new to the series and doesn't seem to have any relationship to the xenomorphs; it just happens to be parasitic in a similar way.

Ep6 pretty well established that it's a little shit and it definitely wasn't trying to warn the doctor. I hope it gets into more hijinks tonight and they just make a new series all about it going around causing mayhem. lol

Okay, but what about distracting the doctor makes it bad?

If this was a story about a human being kidnapped and imprisoned for decades sowing discord among their captors in an attempt to get free, pretty much everyone would be in agreement that the human was in the right.

First time joining these threads, I got caught up on the series over the weekend. I thought episode 5 (the flashback to the Maginot) showed the eye creature cared for/looked out for the doctor? It seemed like it was trying to draw attention to the leech escaping and going into the cup...

On topic, I've enjoyed the series so far but I did find myself suspending disbelief a bit too much with episode 6 - you would have thought there were other techs monitoring the Lost Boys (and thus would have seen Isaac go offline) and there would be more security/warnings around the alien containment lab...

The thing is that Kirsh was watching the whole thing. We don't know why he's allowing this stuff to happen, but it's entirely possible he made sure there wasn't other techs, or more security/warnings.

Do we think Kirsch is going rogue or Boy is manipulating everything for some scheme?

Boy did say to assume he knows everything in a prior episode, so I don't know if people want him to be stupidly unaware to get his comeuppance.

I feel like it would be interesting for him to be aware of what is going on, like flipping a switch in later episodes.

If Boy is manipulating everything, they'll have to do a really good job to convince me he's capable of that. Based on what I've seen so far, he seems like he's the kind of person that is intelligent in some ways, and that's lead him to believe he's smart in every way. And his main motivation is to show everyone else just how smart he is. So, either he'd have to be doing all of this towards that end, or making that seem to be his motivation would have to be part of the manipulation. Either are definitely possible, but we'll just have to see.

That's what I thought too, but the show runners said it was distracting her. So, yeah, it's a devious little chaos monster rather than a misunderstood tragic creature.

Though, imo, still doesn't quite make sense that it was distracting her since the big had already escaped and she was already distracted before it started tapping. But oh well.

He seems to be single minded focused on shit. He's all in on the eyeball right now after tossing his other toys to the side. He still could be manipulating things, but it'll come as a "oh yeah, of course I knew everything going on" because they haven't really been building up to it.

At the moment I think Kirsch is just allowing thing to go on so he can prove his superiority to the other synths and also now have a leg up on Weyland.

It would also be interesting if once Boy was alerted to the danger he was able to take charge and formulate plans on the fly to fix the situation. Would show how he became CEO of this big company that has all these people listening to him instead of just a mook whose ideas were stolen.

In recent marvel Alien comics, they added a new thing that is this huminoid woman looking thing that is a Xenomorph queen. But she looks like huminoid shaped instead of the old queens. And if I remember, she sends nightmare visions of herself and xenomorphs into sleeping people for some reason. I think people start calling her The Lady In The Dark

And its possible Wendy is inspired by that and might turn into something similar
