Ordered the switch version because my tv is broken lol. I saw some reports that even though the first game is about 40 hours of content, this remake will have almost 80 which pleases me.

The original was 70-80 hours if you did all of the side quests and didn't just rush the story.

Part of the length of the Trails games is going back to every town and talking to NPCs because their dialogue changes after every major story event.

I'm just trying to get through Azure right now to play Trails into Reverie, because I am unbelievably behind on the games at this point after taking a break. Even restarted my 2 year old save of Zero and just played from the point I left off.

So I'll probably play Sky remake after that before I get into Daybreak. I loved Sky so goddamn much, I played it back on the PSP when I was in college, in like 2011.

I talked to most NPCs during the game but I guess I didn't back track that much? Can you even back track in FC? I thought as soon as you go on to the next country you're gated

im not aware of any plans, but my personal theory is maybe not, since they already have 3D models of places like Crossbell City to use in future games. Maybe in future games they wanted to return to Liberl for something, so it would make sense to remake the Sky trilogy and kill 2 birds with 1 stone
I could be completely wrong thats just my guess

I sincerely doubt it. They haven't even said if they're going to remake the other Sky games

It would sting but I could see them skipping The Third in favor of doing the Crossbell games instead, though.

Ive heard the Crosbell games spoil the shit out of Trails in the Sky. Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter remake will be my first one, Im playing the demo now.

Im playing on Nightmare and Im enjoying the battle system so far. At least where Im at its tough but fair on Nightmare. If you use the action combat system to dodge and pull enemies together then use the super moves to chain into stuns and so on, you can get by mostly unscathed, but if you are forced to start in turn based its much harder.

Yeah for the most part you want to play in release order but Zero & CS1 are mostly simultaneous, as are Azure & CS2.

Specifically Trails from Zero does spoil how a few characters from the older games continue their story after the first trilogy, so I probably would hold off on Zero until at least 2nd Chapter.

well it's more like CS1 and CS2 are simultaneous with Azure, just that CS2 takes place in a pretty compressed amount of time in-universe

I kind of have to. I would honestly prefer it if there was no difficulty option and it was easier, but if there are difficulty options I have to do the highest non-bullshit one (and by bullshit, I mean something that makes a regular game a roguelike by removing checkpoints, something that super boosts enemies and obviously meant for NG+, or for a Falcom example, in Ys Origins, Nightmare basically makes you unable to use some game mechanics).

CS1 starts two months after Zero starts. Both run concurrently, but the events from the end of CS1 and most of CS2 happen while Azure is happening. Azure ends before CS2 ends.
