just wondering really. i had a conversation with some friends and going by their high school experience i'd guess mine was a prison. i mean i already knew that, we had bomb threats/gun threats/mass fights/drug use issues every year, sections of the school had pull down fence barricades to lock down movement, and the security guards were all ex-prison guards. but i just wanted to see what others experienced. and to start off, no, i went on no school trips and as i understand it the only ones that were regularly allowed were sports related. had an oceanography teacher throw a fit at the administration for blocking a class trip to an estuary near the end of the year. --- Taarsidath-an halsaam. Yea. Including every year my school had what's called Project Week, where there's a range of 'Projects' like one year my favorite teacher of all time had a week long acting class. Another year I went to Disney World with like a bunch of behind the scenes stuff - meeting the Cirque du Soleil LA Nouba performers and what not was incredible. Another year I went snowboarding in Vale, Co Then there's out of country trips to like, Italy. But that costs thousands... I think there was one or two class related field trips freshman year. But most of my trips were club related. I went to a lot of FBLA and SkillsUSA competitions. Every 4 years my high school marching band was offered to go to Disney World in Orlando to play in the parade. I didn't go because it cost money and I'd already been to Disney World and Orlando with family as a kid. Our marching band also went to Philly for a weekend for some music related workshop I think in Rowan University and to visit the Liberty Bell. Other marching band field trips included going to Rockefeller Center to play on The Today Show which is right next to Nintendo NY or going to a movie shoot (I didn't go). I've never seen a regular academic class in high school just take a class trip to somewhere. --- Proud Arceus of C.E.A.L. 3DS: 3926 5179 1229 IGN: ICanSnake (AS, Moon, UM, SW) | Jon (X) Event List: http://bit.ly/2mVcn2Z Shiny List: http://bit.ly/2wdbxU7 ... In my kids high school the band & choir take a trip every year (and once every 4 years that trip is Disney World). Otherwise the seniors always have a trip to DC. I don't remember anything for education. Tbh I only remember a few elementary school field trips (one of those was in the first or second grade). I imagine we didn't have them in middle or high school because of our variable schedules. There was an annual spirit competition in HS and whichever grade won got to go to a theme park.
