No you can't. It takes like 30 min-hour or w to buy a car. Even having fuck you money to buy a house with straight cash is going to take longer than that. Let alone that it's certainly not OFTEN times faster than buying a car.

I'm not saying IN EVERY CASE. I am saying, in SOME CASES, you can buy a house AS FAST, or faster than how many people, in a normal scenario (aka, people on a budget) MIGHT buy a car.

To clarify:
a) Person with a billion dollars buying a house for $3 million cash.
VS
b) Person on a budget, shopping for a car that he may not be able to afford, requiring multiple days to research, shop and negotiate favorable terms.

If I had a billion dollars, I wouldn't bother researching. I could contact the most well-regarded realtor in the richest part of Westchester, and start knocking on doors and offering millions to get leave their home by the end of the day.

My one and only large purchase would be a nice house on a big chunk of property in my dream area of Northwest Montana in the Flathead Valley near Glacier National Park.

The house would be nice, but not some crazy mansion. Just what you would consider an upscale family house but I would buy a whole bunch of land and the area I want to live in has expensive land.

Outside of that I already have everything I want and already have more money than I need. This would just allow me to buy my dream property and quit my job and move and be retired.

Definitely moving to a better neighborhood.

Yeah lottery winner problems, particularly landing nearly $1B in cash instantaneously, inevitably land at either: A) Unknowingly fall too deep and quickly into a crazy lifestyle with booze, drugs, and sex and spiral into depression, losing it all, and/or death. Or B) Friends, family, and random people all coming out of the woodwork to beg, stalk, and overall make your life miserable wanting a cut.

$1B cash is just way too much money. Hell, give me $5M and thatd already be way more than I need to retire, live the rest of my life out comfortably, and give a bit away.

Never got that one (I mean I absolutely do, but still lol). I would relish in telling people to fuck off. I'd for sure buy my parents both new vehicles and a new house if they wanted to move to a more comfortable spot, since theirs is paid off, but aside from that anyone else can fuck off. My friend lives on a lake and I'd buy a house up there on the water and a boat and then just chill the rest of my days.

There is an indoor soccer building here in town that I'd love to take from the current owners because they'd turned it into a shit hole. Sadly even rehabbing it for 0 profit for nostalgia sake I'd have no clue on how to attract teams to it, since it just can't compete with the newer facilities around here that have been built.

I'll probably purchase gifts for my friends. Yeah yeah, I don't care.

Edit: Now that I think about it, probably a venue for game tournaments and other events.

I'll also soft quit my job. I might want to do something there or talk to old co-workers. I don't really need a salary anymore, but I might get bored/lonely and want to show up every now and then.

The chance of getting murdered probably shoots up quite a bit, but I'll take the risk.

I did not mean to say that a person with a billion in cash often can buy a house faster than a person, in a similar financial situation, buying a car, in the same scenario. Obviously, in such a case, a person with a billion dollars can buy a car faster than a person with a billion dollars looking for a house.
