work in the countries version of the white house? Like the leader's assistant staff or whatever. Not people in the cabinet. But janitors, secretaries, interns, stuff like that. The people behind the scenes who do assistant work for the politicians in the seat of power. But its in a fictional country that is maybe based on North Korea

But the show would be a comedy

There was a 1990 British TV show called "Heil Honey, I'm Home!" about Hitler and Eva living next door to a Jewish couple. They actually made eight episodes, but only the first one ever made it to air before the show was cancelled.

Something similar happened in the US in the early 2000s. Totally different show plot but it was also, like what you mentioned, a show that got canceled after 1 episode. Called Bob, The Devil and God. A guy named Bob becomes friends with both God and the Devil and they just hang out each episode. A full season was made but only the pilot originally aired. I forget on what channel. The full season finally aired on adult swim like a decade later. Funny thing is the show actually kinda taught Christian values each episode. The Devil was there but he was never allowed to win really and each episode usually had some lesson behind it. But Christians screeched and ranted about the show and forced the network to cancel it. I don't think the complainers ever even watched it.

Oh yea, forgot to mention it was animated

Might be the Paradox gamer in me talking, but I think it would also be interesting for this idea if the show was set in the far past, with the 'dictatorship' being an absolutist monarchy, instead of the present day.

The Residence was a murder mystery limited run series that was very much this...even set in the White House. It was in the vein of the Knives Out movies. So was semi serious/comedy.

Was a really good show.

Colonel Klink was played by a Jewish guy whose only condition for taking the role was that under no circumstances was Klink ever allowed to "win" in any episode.

I still haven't seen it! I need to!

Also has anyone seen NBC's Kings from 2009? Retelling of David and Goliath but US modern time is ruled by a King after a civil war. It's a drama but I liked it.

Yes! I liked that show. It had so much potential but it only got 1 season. It was meant to cover the whole life of King David but all we got to see was his early years before he even becomes king. I am pretty he still hadn't taken the throne when the season ended. But it was hinted. It probably would have happened in season 2
