I never go there, and there's one in walking distance of my place. It's getting to the point where Culver's is both better and cheaper.

If you absolutely must eat fast food then you should 100% be using an app to place an order, there are often deals available that would have resulted in you getting more food and playing less as well as accumulating points to redeem for freebies before too long.

Also I was reading that McDonald's is in the process of rolling out nationwide price cuts which is speculated will cause other chains to follow suit.

But I've been trying to avoid fast food as a whole so hopefully I won't be suckered in by a good deal

Yeah, fast food without their personal apps is just horrible these days. It's still pricey, just less so.

Wendy's had breakfast biscuits for a dollar for a little bit, that absolutely got my attention.

Fast food apps are the main reason I very rarely get fast food now. I'm not going to download an app for something like McDonalds, and because I know it'll cost me more by not using them I just won't go at all.

Yeah you have to use the apps and deals.
My last order was 2 double cheeseburgers, large fry, and a drink for about $6. There's a deal for any size fry with purchase of a drink, and double cheeseburgers are in the McValue buy-one-get-one for $1 deal.

Also that said McDonalds deals are often terrible and they don't let you combine your points and a deal. Wendy's app is the best value I've seen because they do and their deals are usually pretty good.

Wendys also has amazing lemonade

this has nothing to do with cost. just lemonade.

They all increased prices so much and seemingly all got slower to the point where theyre no longer fast or cheap food.

People say this but have you actually been there lately?

Spoiler alert: prices are going up everywhere.

I think the argument is more that you're getting more for whatever price you're paying, which is generally true from what I've found with my local places

It sounds perverse but the main reason I like McDonald's over local fast food places is that the portions are so small. Even a fairly big order will be around 1k calories. Helps avoid putting on the pounds when I can't be bothered cooking!

also protip now you can go to those low tier sit down places like applebees/chilis and straight up get a full burger, fries, and drink for 9.99 (and chips at chilis)

I don't think any of the local restaurants in the small town I live in are much better in either price or portion, and honestly half of them really aren't even better in taste.

Also not sure if it's like this elsewhere, but food trucks/carts here are all pretty awful in every regard now. They've somehow become the worst of all worlds.

Just checked. At my Applebees its $13.79 for a basic cheeseburger and fries, no drink.

It is kind of ridiculous how

A) The cheapest most cost efficient fast food has become pizza, the prices of which seem to actually be going DOWN at the major chains as long as you're using the app

B) Actual full meal burger at Chillis ordered to go is cheaper than a fucking McDonald's combo.
