He's complaining about being pigeonholed into being nearly a billionaire when he was already wealthy before, and essentially claiming peer pressure to keep doing the same when he always had enough money to not give a shit.

I think it does. In this interview he made it sound like he didn't have a choice or never had the chance to present more than being the stereotypical action hero. He's wrong which is why I find what he's saying to be non-genuine but I too look forward to this movie.

He refused to fight Shazam as Black Adam. Originally there was maybe eventually planned a movie (maybe in Shazam 2) where Shazam would have fought Rock Black Adam. But he refused.

His acting wasn't good enough to work in other kinds of movies.

All he had to do was not have the clause in his contract that stated that he can't lose a fight/die. He would be getting so many more varied roles. Either he or someone close to him made that choice.

To be fair, Vin Diesel was the first to kick off the "can never lose a fight" thing in Fast & Furious. Then since he had it in his contract, Rock and Jason Statham got it in theirs, too. The whole thing became silly.

Rock got booted because him and Vin just don't like each other.
