I heard that Israeli helicopters during the October 7th attack, were destroying Hamas trucks that had been identified of carrying hostages. They ( IDF) killed the hostages to prevent them from being taken into Gaza. Remains of destroyed Hamas trucks were found that were quite obviously taken out by helicopter fire, and inside were a mix of dead Hamas and Israeli citizens (or other country people who visited for the concert)

The IDF has a policy where they try to kill their own side if taken hostage, instead of letting them be used. I think its called the Hanibal Directive

But its really fucked up to apply that policy to civilians
