For any reason.

My vote is either Taco Bell or McDonald's.

Taco Bell because everyone says it gives you explosive diarrhea but I've never seen it happen.

McDonald's because it's the poster boy for the "makes you fat" crusade even though there are several that are a lot worse.

And whats the deal with airline food?

I gave up eating out in 2017 and some places I hadn't been to for many years before but I will say within the subset of chicken places too many people act like KFC is dogshit when to me it really wasn't. I think most of it was people didn't like the prices (before prices went crazy for everyone) and so they just decided to shit on it. People put Popeye's on some pedestal and I never understood that. Bojangles was where it was at.

I think in general though yeah Taco Bell really gets a lot of heat and I ate there frequently in my military days and never had an issue. Also that was the 90's when things were super great price wise and I could get a fucking SACK of food for like $16.

Like I would get 6 soft shell taco supremes, a 7 layer burrito, a chili cheese burrito, a mexican pizza, 2 beef mexi melts with pico sauce and then maybe a burrito supreme or something else. I'd fuck it all up for less than $20.

Also side note, at this time in the 90's in the Navy the Whoppers at Burger King were 99 cents the entire almost 5 years I was there. The limited time deal never went away. That was awesome. Could get a couple whoppers and snag some McDonalds fries and have a full meal for like $3.50.

Never got the hate for Burger King.

I used to not understand the Burger King hate, but it really has gone down hill the last few years.

Jack in the Box is still the only fast food place people have given me shit over actually liking.

the prices at five guys feel like they're always 5 years ahead on inflation and it's hilarious to me how much effort goes into making their fries just for them to be soggy and limp anyway

I see Burger King get shit on the most online. I went there for the first time in over a decade a few months ago knowing it was going to be a ripoff like every fast food joint, but I used the app to get two Whopper Jrs. for $6 and the quality surprised me. The burgers weren't sadly deflated but had volume to them, the vegetables tasted fresh, and the patties had a good charbroiled taste to them. I actually thought it was delicious.

Compare that to McDonald's - I don't taste any of those flavor notes when I get a Big Mac (but I also haven't been there in over 10 years).

A Cold Cut combo at Subway is always pretty good

McDonald's definitely gets the most, but it's also the largest and most widespread. I also don't exactly disagree with it though seeing as I don't care for it myself.

im not rich enough to eat taco bell often anymore :( definitely only for the 6 figure income people

I have never known anyone to claim Taco Bell is the best place. It was always popular because it *used* to be known for good value relative to ok food. But it was never in contention for being the best.

It's like where I grew up Domino's was universally considered the last place pizza chain you could get but yet it was still super popular and considered the best value because of their prices. But no one ever confused it for being the best place. It was just "good enough" when you didn't have much money.

I will say Little Caesars gets an unfair amount of hate. The pizza isnt terrible, the price is good, and I like all the breadstick offerings. A lot of time when I dont feel like fucking with dinner I can get my son and I pizza and breadsticks for like $12.

BK's always been one of my favorites and I didn't even know it was generally considered low tier until a few years ago.

I think it depends on the location. Ive been to some really gross BKs. Sometimes they fucking slap though. I love a good rodeo burger, and they used to have a nice mushroom Swiss (my favorite) but I think its gone now.
